Default Buying a new 2014 in 2015

My 2007 GS just got totaled out and I am looking to upgrade to the 4GS. I have been looking at some used 2014 with low miles around 40k. Noticed that there were still several dealers around that have some new 2014's on their lots. Any one have any idea what I could expect the dealership to come off a new 2014 when they already have 2015's sitting on the lot? I have considered a used 2013 also. Is the upgrade to the 8 speed in the 2014 worth it?

Thanks for any help.

imho? the 8 speed isn't worth it. i actually prefer how the 6 speed drives. more responsive and the tq works out better i think.

price wise, it's hard to say. dealerships with leftover 14 by now should be begging people to buy, it might make sense if you plan to keep the car for a long time. i find the 4gs to depreciate on the faster side, so if there is a good low mileage 13 for good price, maybe that's the route to go

Agreed, I don't think the 8-speed is worth it. I find it takes more time to choose a gear when you hit the gas.

The 2015 gets double pane windows, moving guidelines on the backup camera, and remote start features. I'd go for a 2013 or spring for the 2015 as from what I've gathered, they're giving pretty good discounts on those already.

For a new 2014, i wouldn't pay more than $48,000. For one with 40k miles, somewhere around $45,000.

Is that a typo? Maybe you meant $35,000. I wouldn't pay more than $35,000 for one with 40k miles..

+1 on that I would pay 35k no more 48k is high with 40k. Op I would suggest a 14 new you should be able to get a very good price on one.

a cpo 13 with 13-15k miles (premium) goes for high 30s, so imho a 14 with 40k miles, even at 35k i feel it's high

given the kind of discount lexus is giving out on the gs (new cars), it puts tons of pressure on used

I picked my 2014 in Oct. 2014 and got $10k off the Tech/Luxury AWD with winter package. Turned out to be ~$1000 above invoice price. Canadian ay.
Went in armed with invoice price though, and dealt directly with sales manager. He asked me how much the dealer is worth (above invoice). Asked him not to play games as that's not the only $$ they will make on the car.
He asked me where I was going to get the car serviced and when I said "here" he said sold.

The six speed is a very nice shifting tranny! And the car, well it is Extra Awesome

I wanna say you can get that one lower as well probably lower than that, its a 2013 at this point I'm sure they want to get rid of it.

I got my brand new GSH 2013 in Feb 14 for 11k off. So you should be able to get a good deal on a new 14 if you are willing to negotiate.

lol no wonder they still have it.

if there are any 14, they should be sold for under invoice now. even at invoice it's too much imho, considering that the 15 has been out for months.
