I've been using Carista with my android phone for a while now. I ordered the blue ELM27 and it worked great. I tried it with my buddy's older all black ELM327, and couldn't get it to work. Anybody get one of the black elm's to work?

I was getting ready to purchase the ELM327 on Amazon and noted in the product description; "Not for iphones." Since the 'system requirements' listed by Carista specify this device, is this the right one to buy regardless of the product info posted at Amazon?

Anyone from Carista listening here? Can you verify that the ELM327 is the device you recommend?

It's my understanding that you need to get a WiFi ELM327 device and not a Bluetooth ELM327 device because Apple has their Bluetooth locked down....so the Bluetooth ones only work with Android devices.I am about to order one for myself to try since I got an email this morning about the new Carista beta for IOS.

How long did it take to get accepted? Figured they would email a link to the download after registering, but nothing so far in 36 hrs.

For iOS, you need a WiFi ELM327, not Bluetooth. So make sure you buy that.

Hopefully we will get instructions on how to transfer ownership from the Android app to IOS app.

What a great tool! For $40 (all in) we are able to adjust most customizable settings without having to go to the dealer
Add TPMS codes and we are golden!

I just received my app and my reader.

My reader isn't working with this app or the beta is a little buggy. I can get data from my Lexus using this reader with other apps but not Carista.

So my question is did I order the wrong reader? Here is the one I ordered, I just noticed it didn't say ELM327.

I found this reader using the link from the Carista hardware page.

Carista is there a difference between my reader and an ELM327?
