The subject of Carbon Monoxide poising hits home for me.

Never leave the door from your garage to the house open!

Yeah, but the car turns off after 10 mins so it wouldn't be that bad. Guy kinda exaggerated a bit since there wouldn't be much CO buildup in just a few minutes. I do agree that Lexus needs better security for Enforn Remote though.

Who leaves the door for the garage open into their house? Lots of spiders, dust, and leaves would be in your house. Haha

I didn't even see that about the door. Plus, the garage door is a heavy fire door with a fire seal. The garage is also sealed to a large degree from the rest of the house, assuming its a newer house.

All I'm saying its a danger many people don't think of until it's too late. Every winter people needlessly die of Carbon Monoxide poising because they didn't know about the hazard or take it seriously!

And yes the original OP was scared, but I don't blame him. His family may have been in danger!
And who's to say how many start commands were sent to remote start the car?

In the case of my friends wife, they found one of the kids boots blocking the door from closing to their heated garage.
As SW13GS stated its code in most places to have a self closing fire door, but how many are like me and had one of the spring loaded hinges break and thought one will work just fine?

Why didn't the car shut off? All they know is the keys (remote starter) were on the chair she was sitting on when he found her.

Please just be aware!

Again, to be clear...they can send as many start commands as they want...it will only start once then it has to be started with the key. Another safety feature. The car was only running for a few minutes, bottom line.

You need to keep up on maintenance like that.
