suggest that isn't true in all cases. However, this article is a bit older than the one you posted and so the law may have changed. Further investigation is needed, but I just wanted everyone to be aware so they can check out their own local ordinance.

2013 - 2014 GS's could have just Remote Engine Start RES installed for one time $500,
line of sight range, shuts off when unlocked, no monthly charges

2013-2014 GS's could have had RES+ installed for one time $950 and $6 month subscription,
fob works just like RES (forever for free) and the phone app does it's thing from a useful distance

2015 GS's have Lexus Enform Remote (separate and different than Lexus Enform App Suite)
free for 12 months and then optionally $140 for Safety Connect + $80 for Remote Start = $220/year
Fob works just like RES but only while subscribed phone app is active. Phone app obviously starts and
stops but adds Guest Driver limitation notification (Valet doing burn-outs!)(teen drivers over 100 mph!)

Thanks. So using the key fob works for all 2015 cars as soon as you take delivery, or do you have to set up an account?

Does anyone know if RES+ can be installed in a 2013 GS? I considering one from the local dealer instead of special order, and I would like remote start.

RES+ isn't available for the 2013 GS. You either have to get the the RES system (start with key fob only) or go aftermarket to gain remote functionality from your phone. I can't speak of '14 and '15 models though.

100% what yardie said. Before I picked up my 13 recently, I inquired about RES/RES+ and the service manager said the same. Off the record, he said to go get an aftermarket one, cuz the OEM ones are crap.

Locking 3 times doesn't work for me. But encore remote via app works...?

edittman1, the cadence of the fob button presses is pretty critical. Three (or more...) quick presses and hold the last one until the various marker lamps flash. You can release the button anytime after that and she'll fire up 5 seconds later.

Ya, then turns off once i open the door or hit unlock.

Sometimes the car doesn't always start even though I get the flashing turn signal lights. When that occurs, the starter just clicks once and then nothing happens. Some sort of bug that needs fixing.

Got the FOB remote start fixed by the dealer. There is a new update they can put in the car computer.
