Lexus debuts 2016 GS F (Pictures Starting on Page 8)

True that. With the weight and the dead steering in the Bimmers these days it should shred them in the twisties.

Really? Fail? That's a bold statement for a car that puts out 467hp off the showroom floor. Pretty sure you'd change your mind if you drove it. I bet that thing is a track monster.

I was actually hoping they produce a RX-F. It would make for one mean looking SUV Crossover that can compete with BMW's X5M, Audi's SQ5 or Mercedes ML-AMG.
With that said, imagine if they were able to stick this RCF / GS engine and transmission with the IS. You're looking at a roughly 3,400 -3,500 lb car with 467 hp at the wheels. That thing would FLY.

Lexus did not hit a home run with this car. My 07 rs4 has 420hp/awd.
My 1990 z32 has over 800hp haha. Lexus' strong suit is not the ultimate driving machine but reliability.
I still have my 98 gs400 because it's reliable but have bought other German, Japanese brands looking for more horsepower.
Who knows, if someone came out with a turbo kit for this engine, then I might consider it.

You guys see the interior yet? Sorry if this was already posted. Not about to go through 38 pages to see.

Looks super sweet. Like the carbon fiber, two tone leather and those seats are sick! 467hp or 567hp, I don't care, I'd love to have this car.

Why would you think that? There was an IS-F and it was over 3,800 lbs. The current IS F Sport is ~3,600 lbs with a V6, so dropping in a V8 is going to add to that. And I'm pretty sure the 467 hp of the RCF/GS is at the crank. In order to have 467 hp at the wheels, you'd need 550-575HP at the crank.

I wish the GS came with at least 500HP especially since the older E60 M5 had 500+ but lets not forget that the car is 4000 pounds which is still 200 pounds heavier than my M5 after installing coilers, brakes, exhaust etc it dropped that 200 pounds, and Im sure with intake, headers etc we can read 520 fly wheel HP?

Like some commentators on DRIVE YT channel said, all this power is just a consolation prize for the fact that German cars just don't give a very good road/steering feel anymore. So they aim for the jolt in the pants and make the car a handful to drive in the hope that you mistake jerky power delivery and scary handling as "good driving cars".
Good thing Lexus gets that and refuses to play this brainless game of diminishing returns on driver satisfaction.

I'm humored by all of the "failed" posts saying that 465 hp is not enough. You guys do know you are on a forum for a car that only has 306 hp now, don't you?
I've said it before, wait until pricing is announced. It will be much cheaper than the 550+HP cars y'all think it is supposed to compete against. It will be priced like a 440 hp BMW 550 or 450 hp Audi S6. I'll bet on it.
