The original poster said this
"and you will be paying hell of alot more for a 2 more doors and a bigger boot with the same motor and gearbox"
My point is yeah look at the IS vs. GS! I paid a hell of a lot more, roughly 15k to 20k (not sure on how much a IS350 is exactly) because of my needs. So its not that far fetched that they would put the same exact motor in the GSF thats in the RCF.
To me, I want to see this thing in the flesh. I am not in the market, can't afford a $115,000 car like the M5 but an $85,000 I could do. So for me if the price comes in around that range it would be a good choice for me and being that it has 467 horsepower doesn't bother me in the slightest.
It seems by reading all the posts in this thread that the main gripe with everyone is that this car will cary the F badge. Call it whatever you want but I still want to drive it.

I am sure a GS500 with the engine of the ISF with "only" 416hp will find it's niche too and satisfy a lot of people already that's waiting for a V8, that number is already competitive in it's class, more power than most people would actually need, and will drive smoother than the 350 , and such a car can be priced lower too

I like the clean minimalist design, especially the interior. Very Apple-like. All of Lexus cars now have that feel. I sat inside a MB C400 last week which all critics have been raving about. Yes the interior of the Benz is lush, but the longer I sat in it, the more tacky it looked. Those huge round air vents sticking out calling attention to themselves....are not my cup of tea.

Nice observation... Take a look at this new picture posted in Car Chat. I think they flow. I never care for the HP (306 is plenty for me already) or other German guys. I was a bit disappointed when the full pictures were revealed, but the more I see (from different angles), the more I start to like this thing. Can't wait to see in person.
I don't need the crazy amount of horse power but I won't pay $80k for it either. GS400 would have been nice for people like me.

My overriding concern to to get to drive and own a 4GS with more power preferably V8 power, and not have to pay silly amounts of money. This GS-F fits the bill. Call it whatever you want to call it, I could care less as the end-consumer.
A GS-F with >550hp would be great but at BMW M5 levels of pricing? No Thanks.
A V8 4GS with both power and handling? Where do I sign up?

theres going to be people out there that do not want so swing 120k for an M5 but want something better than just a sport packaged V8 sedan. Yea it wont be as good as the 120k car but who cares its $30k less
not really, the M5 looks like a huge E46 3 series, and its a $120k car that looks like like a 60k car. M5 is so incredibly boring looking
