No Mark Levinson- deal breaker?
Hey guys, working with a dealer but both color combos I want they do not have the Mark Levinson. Is it that much better than the standard system?
I asked about locating one and he said they loose incentives and flooring cost with dealer trades. Thanks guys.

i would not get the mark levinson system. their amps are garbage. 99% of all no sound out of the speakers but the head unit still works complaints have been resolved by replacing the mark amp. and they go out alot.

now that i've had ML for 1 week, i would say it's fine, but not worth losing a good deal. i'm a bit underwhelmed by the audio in fact. take the one in front of you and go drive!

I use my iphone (Spotify) to stream music via bluetooth and I don't have ML. It still sounds decent and I'm not a hardcore Audiophile like those Audi folks with Bang and Olufsens.

What is important to YOU in music reproduction? The ML has great clarity and imaging, and fair bass response (but much better than the ML in the 2010 I had). I personally would not have bought the car without it. I'm spending money for a premium car and I want all the premium features. If you start questioning every aspect of the car and whether any given feature is a must have, you might as well buy an Accord. And remember that there is no such thing as a "today only" deal on a car in plentiful supply like the GS.

I had the standard system in my previous 2IS and now the ML in my 3IS and honestly only notice a slight difference. I am definitely not an "Audiophile" though. I would not miss a good deal for it, it just happened to be on the car w/ the color combo I liked.

I am underwhelmed with the ML system. I think it is only marginally better than the standard system in my 2011 IS.
I also have a 2014 Audi SQ5 and I think the B&O sound system in it is way better than the ML in the GS.

I find the Mark Levinson system in my 2014 GS very good and i would not buy one without it. I got a 2013 GS loaner without ML and i notice a big difference in quality and sound positioning. I am **** with my audio systems and my last car had a built Alpine audio system which Wowed anyone who heard it. What i did notice is sat radio sounded better on the NON Mark Levinson system than the one with the ML system.

The sound clarity on the ML is very good but the non ML is good too, just not as clear as the ML. I don't think the ML system is designed for boomy bass sound, so if that's what ur looking for u'll be disappointed.
Now the base sound system in my 2014 Accord is really bad, my 12 year old Corolla with tape deck sounds better. However, the base sound system in my Camry is pretty good, not Lexus good though. I think Toyota has better sound system over Honda.

If you are considering the ML, then audio is important to you.. so I think you have to hear them both yourself to decide for yourself!! If you dont, you will always wonder
I got the ML in mine..

You dont even have to call dealers, check out their websites to see their current inventory and options! Find a dealer that has both, so you can do a more side by side comparison.
I'm in so cal too, most the dealers out here list the main options on their web pages which is really helpful. Either they say ML or they dont for std audio, and you will be able to tell the price difference too.
Unfortunately even though the ML is just $1380 more in reality all the cars out here with ML also have the intuitive park assist and blind spot monitors from my recent searching/purchase.
That makes for a price difference of $2580:
ML = $1380
IPA = $500
BSM = $700
However the ipa and bsm are quite useful too.. for an over 50k machine, this is a drop in the bucket really!
Good luck out there
