Meh: Bridgestone tires feel like ball bearings on sandpaper. I'm motivated to upgrade to the Michelin Pilot Super Sports ASAP.

Not so great: manual downshifting leaves something to be desired. In full auto Sport + the trans does an admirable job and is plenty quick. When using the flappy paddles, however it just feels like a slush box that's trying too hard to pretend it's a DCT.

I know Lexus can do better because I've driven the 8 speed implementation on the ISF (and I'm sure the RCF supersedes this but I haven't tried it myself).

Yours downshift plenty quick using the paddles in sport +? Because mine has a several second lag. I don't think it feels like it's a slush box or trying to be a dct but I do think sometimes it's an odd feeling due to a major lack of torque.

Like: feeling of substantial solidity on the move. This thing is built like a tank but has the reflexes of a cheetah.

For whatever reason the rev matching on downshifts seems really pokey at low RPM (I assume this is probably what you find slow), but it seems much better at 3k+ RPM. It doesn't seem slow at all going from 4->3 or 3->2 from around 3k or so. Anything less is a bit slow. Not sure why Lexus has it programmed that way.

Yeah I agree. In city driving, manual mode a bit clunky so I usually just leave in auto around town.
