Hi,

So I'm still new to all these modifications and such. I have a few (dumb/stupid) question.

What's the difference aside from the price between coil overs and springs?
Will spring just replace the old springs and use the same shocks?
If I do get coil overs will it mess up the adaptive variable suspension?
What do you recommend? Money is not a problem between those 2.

Coilovers are adjustable, springs are just springs
Yes it will just replace the stock springs and using old shocks
It will not mess up avs
Coilovers because you can make adjustments in height and whatever suits you best.

I am also looking forward to some coils myself. Just bought some very nice wheels for the GS!

Springs only allow you to lower the car to a certain extant, where as coilovers are completely adjustable in height and comfort/stiffness.

Yes, if you only replace the springs, you will be using your oem shocks. I personally won't use springs because the oem shocks are not mention to compress that load with the shortened spring. Overtime you will have to replace the shocks as well. Hence why most members go straight to coiovers.

If you just use that search button in the middle you will find all your answers to your questions. I believe there is a company J5 ( correct me if I'm wrong fellas! ) that has developed a coil over system that will work with the AVS.

True, I'd keep in mind that coilovers when lowered close to 2" inches, camber is greatly effected. Looks the best imho but inner wear starts happening real fast on your tires.
They make camber-toe kits for our cars?

THere are rear kits from figs and spc...
there is a FRONT upper wishbone with adjustable camber as well

Edit: Changed my mind. My advice is to do it right from the beginning and get coilovers. Shocks of the GS F-sport are weak. Had my shocks blown after lowering on springs. Ordered the J5 coilovers with AVS.

I just put BR coilovers on my 2014 ISC and dropped it all the way. it looks and drives very nice.

Eibach Pro Kit + Koni Yellow shocks

or

BC Racing BR coilvers

The cost is about the same.
BC Coilovers would be easy to install since I wouldn't have to deal with spring compressor (aka. Widowmaker)

Did you have to get a camber kit to get proper alignment?

Who makes the Upper Control Arms (UCAs) for the 2013+? As of now, SPC only has the rears.

I didn't take it back for the alignment yet. They told me to wait a couple weeks to let the springs settle. They mentioned I might need a camber kit (hopefully I don't), but my lexus is as low as it can go without rubbing. It's really easy to adjust the settings (height and ride) so even I can do it and I can barely replace a light bulb...lol.

I'm bringing it in on Friday and hoping for the best. So far, it drives very nice and it's really a no brainer to put the BR ones on. Two of the three shops I talked to said the BR coilovers are the best bang for your buck.
