Steve, we leased pretty much at the same time.My mileage is very low and I may buy but am interested in your situation.
Sales tax just on the payment in NJ.

I'm guessing it'll be in the 700-800 with no down.

If its $700 with nothing out of pocket its a deal. Thats what I'm paying now. 750-800 I'll pass.

I'll contribute $1.00 toward the first payment.

And that would be for 48 months to stretch out the upside down. 27 or 36 will be in the 900's I think.

I wouldn't do 48 months. I'd want 27 months, maybe 36.

That's not happening but hey you never know the GS is lower in price so could happen but I think you will def be paying more, also for sure you will be upside down. Good luck though hope you get it, and post pics.

If there's a will, there's a way. Either way, you win, you still have a nice GS.

Good luck, I have two anecdotes..

1) I was able to get out of a lease a full year early and they bought me out clean and clear because I picked up another car.

2) I also did this to avoid buying new tires! In the end though, I hated the second car so much that I took a hit on it just to get rid of it.

In short, good luck! But don't do it JUST to avoid buying new tires. The ML is nice though.
