These are basically two absolutely different cars in the end. One is a v8 and an older body style the other the newest body style with more features. It will all come down to preference and finances.

That V8 is capable of so much more. Lexus purposely detuned the engine and made a joke out of it. There are cars with V6 engines that output better numbers. I would just get the 4GS.

I've driven both 3GS460 & 4GS350, and the 3GS460 V8 has no squirt nor poke at all.
That's because the old 460 is a "detuned" version of the LS V8.
I wish Lexus wouldn't detune their engines like that.
The V8 also gives the 3GS a very heavy nose, so the handling is even worse.
The 3GS springs & dampers weren't well "tuned" for 18", so the ride was quite pitter patter.

Better go for brand new 4GS350.
Quicker, better handling, more rigid platform, more spacious, more equipment, same Lexus reliability, both good looking but in different ways...

It's kind of cool to have a car that's somewhat rare in the 460, but not many people aside from enthusiasts will notice that. I'm partial to the 4GS, but you're gonna spend a lot more to pick up a 4GS over a 3GS. Like someone else said, comes down to what's important to you and what you can afford.

I personally like the low-end torque and the sound of my GS460, but the 4GS will be my next move in a few years.

After experiencing the 4GS interior, anyone considering a 3GS would be ruined.

In late 2006 i was in the market for a GS430 but because the interior was not as Luxurious i went ahead and got a LS430 instead. If in 2006 they had a 4GS i would have bought the 4GS instead. The GS 430's interior was ugly and very feminine and the GS 460 a few years later was no different so I kelpt my LS430 a little longer. Then the 4GS came out and i fell in love and snatched one up earlier this year.

Thats why I didnt get a GS in 2010 when I got my ES350, I didn't feel the value difference inside or on the road. When I drove the 4GS it was immediately there.

Well Lexus did say they designed the 4GS from the ground up, to look and feel like no Lexus before. I think they nailed it on this one and it does feel like a $60K car. The older Lexus gens look a bit boring and bland, but not ever since the 4GS came out and now the IS and ES follows that design too.

I had a 2013 GS350 and 2006 GS430, I would 100% pick 2013 GS350. The 2006 GS year was garbage it did nothing but rattle and seemed very small. The V8 was great very smooth and loved gauges power trunk closer but I say that was the only plus over 13GS350. In fact I wanted AWD so after Lease I got a 2008 GS350 and I say it had less rattles more solid and good MPG with AWD vs 430..

I think V8 should be pushing 400+ HP, V6 300+ HP, and 4 Cyls 200+ HP.

A V8 with under 400 HP is a joke and even the V8 in the current LS 460 feels underpowered to me. These cars are just too damn heavy for that power.

4GS<3GS all day any day.
the 3gs looks like a bubble old school body style from an 2006 vs the all new sexy 4GS.
