Default Vivid Racing Review!!

Ok I needed to make a thread from scratch so if the moderators could delete my getting vivid racing thread would be great. So lets start with I purchased the Vivid Racing Module to see if it would work and debunk whether it works or won't do what it says. The plan is to do a dyno before and then after the car has driven 200+ miles as stated by the company.

Here are the dyno results for the stock run. This is with a somewhat stock car, I have installed a K&N air filter and a Invidia mid-pipe and Meisterschaft exhaust. Basically what occurred was the first runs were run and on the third run the guy said that I had gained 10hp with exhaust but later on the last run it looked as though the GS was relearning and the gain was reduced to 5hp I thought that was interesting, actually made me wonder more about the Vivid Racing module. These runs were all done in 3rd gear. This was done with with 1800 miles on the car and the temp was 38F.
This was the first run in normal mode with valve closed

Ok, so here it goes after following what Vivid Racing told me to do when installing this device, In the shortest review I can give, I can tell you there is a difference in power. I would say butt dyno but this actually feels faster. We were told to basically red-line or close to it, to relearn the gears. In first, second and third there is a noticeable increase in power, I'm not sure how but I can feel a difference even in regular driving ( meaning not in manual). I don't want to get anyone's hopes up as I still need to dyno it again to see what the actual results are, if this really worked or didn't. Another thing that occurred was the cruising mileage, although this could be due to pulling the battery terminal off and leaving it off for 15min. The mileage climbed almost 93 miles more, so basically I had 200 miles tell empty and after the vivid module it went to 293 miles. If some people do decide to get this before I do the second dyno, please make sure you follow directions and also when you put the battery terminal back on don't freak out when the car starts and shuts off like I did, its normal and just start it up again, it is part of the process. I will keep you all updated this week as I have only traveled 50 miles so need to do some more testing and go back to my guy and see what has changed. The dyno is planned for Jan 3rd, so in that time frame I will be driving to New Jersey so I figure that should be close to 800 miles so hopefully that would give the closest test to see whether this actually has gained anything or been lost to the ECU.

Ok so today driving in normal mode I found the car top drive pretty normal and not as fast as it did when I first did the install. It seems as though the power is no longer there as opposed to when I first got it, I will try to test a little in normal mode and see if it was just cause it was the morning or maybe in fact the ECU is relearning itself. For my sake I hope not as I think I have tell the end of the month top return this device if we find it doesnt work.

Ok so did the dyno today we did three runs again with the car having 2700 miles on it. I don't have the sheets yet as the guy hasn't sent them to me yet. The temp was pretty cold today as it also snowed so I plan to re-run when it gets warmer to verify but the chip seems to have gained 16hp or 266hp Vs the 250hp on the first set of runs. I will keep testing to make sure its legit and will post the dyno video later tonight and the dyno sheets when I get them.

Ok here are the dyno sheets it shows an increase for sure not as much as they stated but still an increase its up to you all to decided if its worth it or not to get based on these results. I will try to do another dyno in spring time to see if it still produces more or less than or even the same.

I'm confused. I don' t think you have explicitly said whether these runs you've posted are the dyno numbers with the Vivid tune installed or not.

If these are the numbers after the Vivid tune was installed, then could you share the original dyno numbers w/o the Vivid module? Thx!

No worries. I saw your previous thread and wasn't sure if this was the post-Vivid update. Looking forward to Jan!
