Default Any GS owners here also own a RX 350 Fsport?

Just as the title says, i want to know if the ride on the rx fsport as stiff as a 2014 GS350 luxury package or fsport. I like the firmness and feel of the GS but dont know if i would like it on the rx. My dealer does not have any RX fsports available, so i cannot test drive one and would have to special order or do a dealer trade. Any info would be great. My wife drives a 2009 RX 350 and we want to trade it in for a 15 RX fsport. She also likes the suspension on our 14 GS 350.

I don't own one but there are many reviews on Youtube. This review, from Cars.com, indicates the ride is bumpy without any real payoff in handling. Quite a few reviews also mention the lag in accelaterion off the line due to the 8-speed automatic. Hope this helps.

Haven't driven the F Sport before but with those extra rubber and ground clearance I don't think the suspension will feel as firm as your F Sport. Ours comes with 235/55/19 which is the same as F Sports. I feel it's softer than our GS even in std mode. But once up and going, the RX is a better cruiser IMO. I actually like the feel more than my Lux GS. Couple of things I notice from the new RX:
1. It comes with double pane windows and LED fogs.
2. Engine noise is noticeable loud when accelerating from a stop. We both feel it's louder than our 08.
3. The back up camera sucks.
4. No RCT alert
5. Only two front doors and hatch door have keyless sensors.
Overall it is a nice vehicle but if you're coming from an 09 RX and 4GS, you may not appreciate the car as much.

Two different types of cars with different centers of gravity. They only share the "F Sport". Bottom line, test drive it to see if you like it. Car reviewers in YouTube don't think much of the ride and feel justifying the "F Sport" branding on the RX. Basically, it's just the badge and the upgraded wheels. If you want real sportiness, consider an X5 M Sport instead.

The GS Luxury rides way better than the RX F Sport. The RX F Sport has a stiff, brittle ride. The GS is much more refined. The ordinary RX rides great.

Let your wife drive and decide. Unless the last word is yours.

Happy wife, happy life.

Even the RX F Sport feels mega smooth compared to lol just not ready to take a beating on the trade in and we need 3 rows if anything

I own both 2014 GS F-Sport and 2014 RX F-Sport. The ride on the RX F-Sport is nice, I don't think the RX F-Sport is too stiff at all. What I like about both F-Sport is that it is not the norm. I had 2 RX Hybrids, I think 2012 and 2009. I hated both of them. I don't get the acceleration sound of a regular engine. Also, when the battery needs to be charged, the engine gets very loud, sometimes it sounds like a jet taking off. The Hybrid, does not handle as well as the F-Sport.

I can only say, do not get a hybrid. It will drive you crazy. I never seen much increase in the MPG as well. Maybe an extra 2-4 MPG better. My wife has a lead feet and at times I see no increase in MPG. Just food for thought

Good luck in whatever you purchase. If you check out the RX F-Sport roll call, I think I have both my F-Sport picture on there. Good luck !!

The RX-F Sport does not have a "Brittle" ride, it's a F-Sport model so of course it rides firmer than a regular RX, no less when compared to a GS Lux Pkg car. But it also handles better than a regular RX and IMO looks better. So there are tradeoffs to consider as with anything.

Granted it's handling is not in the same league as an X5 (it's not supposed to be) but it handles well while providing a very good balance between ride and handling.

After coming from two ML350's, a 2012 and 2011 prior, I can say without a doubt that the F-Sport rides just a well as both of them while handling better and with a quieter interior.

Of course there are cosmetic enhancements as with any F-Sport model. But besides the 19" instead of 18" wheels, exclusive interior selections, more aggressive front etc there are mechanical differences.

Such as a sport tuned suspension with perf dampers, tighter steering and an 8 speed trans instead of a 6 speed. BTW, the 8 speed shifts very smooth and provides good acceleration. There is a slight throttle lag at tip-in but it's not a big deal. And certainly nowhere near as bad as both ML's.

OP if you're still considering the F-Sport my advice would be to take it on a good test drive over all types of pavement as me and my wife did prior to buying it. As you know, this is the only way of getting a real feel as to if you'll be happy with it because it isn't for everyone.

Then again, what is?

Good Luck.

The problem is my dealer does not have any RX fports to test drive. I would have to tell them to do a dealer trade and if i dont buy it they would be all pissed at me.

That would be kinda dumb of them to expect you to buy a car without test driving first. Plus, if you decide not to get it, they can probably easily sell it to someone else.

Go to another dealer, that's what I did.. The dealer that I purchased my two previous Lexus' from didn't have the F-Sport either, so I found a dealer that had one. My original plan was to test drive it and then probably go back to my original dealer since I was familiar with the service dept..

However, after finding the exact RX my wife wanted, and test driving that RX I talked numbers with the new dealer, and they were good.

When I called my original dealer back he was giving me a hard time about getting me the exact car my wife wanted. She wanted white / cabernet and the only white F-Sports he had coming in had the black interior. Of course he was trying to push one of those on us even though I told him several times we didn't want it. For the heck of it I had him work up some numbers so I could compare and they were higher than the "new" dealer.

Needless to say I went with the new dealer and ended up with a better deal, and more importantly the RX my wife wanted.

BTW - I agree with dchar, how can the dealer expect you to buy it without driving it.
