A very gripe about the GS center arm rest.
I like the double stitching like the BMW armrest over the single stitched in the GS.
I'm into detail

Yeah I agree. And the rear armrest is double stitched which is odd.

Yup:

If you really want to scratch your head, the rear armrest is real leather...the front armrest is not. The rear armrest is one of the nicest ones I've seen in any car, I actually leave it down.

You mean you don't ride in the backseat when you are chauffeured around for Saturday night bar crawls?

I've never sat in the back seat except for detailing the rear seat area.

Front armrest takes a lot of abuse - so it would wear much faster than other leather in the car. So this is attention to detail, but a different sort. I prefer single stitching for the less busy lines it creates. But I agree the inconsistency is not a good thing.

I don't buy that. I've had LOTS of cars with real leather center armrests, including Lexus vehicles, including cheaper Lexus vehicles, and the leather has stood up fine. Its a cost cutting measure, not a question of durability. As for single stitching vs double stitching, double stitching is a sign of quality.

Theres a reason why the LS has leather armrests, leather door panels, and a real leather dash and the GS has imitation leather in these places, and its not because GS owners have pointier elbows

We were talking about the BMW 5, it has a real leather center armrest and real leather door trim on any leather interior. Just saying. Overall I agree, the GS has a better interior but some details still stand out in the BMW.

I sat in a friend's new X5 a while back, an M Sport. It was niiiiice. I've never seen inside a 5 series in person. I really like the GS' interior, but I think the center stack looks off/dated/boring/blocky.

You can go on more than a vacation with the money saved with the GS over a 535 lol.
Lol that depends on where on vacation you are going or how much your willing to spend on vacation. Ive spent about $15,000 on my last vacation and i have spent more than that.

Having had a BMW 535iX series M Sport I can attest to the fact BMWs suck at reliability. While the car was a joy most days to drive it was far too unreliable and quirky on the infotainment system for my liking. BMW may be driver's cars but Lexus are cars for the driver ( and lately everyone else seated throughout for comfort). IMHO
