I'm very close to pulling the trigger on the Canadian Navigation package GS. It's the US equivalent of the Premium package plus cold weather package.
Two things that are missing in this car that I ideally want are- F-sport or Luxury style seats.
And the Sport + mode.
The seats are fairly comfortable, but not like those in the higher trims.
How much is the difference between sport plus and the sport mode? Especially in cornering and acceleration.

Seats where one of my major concerns, IMO you can't beat the 16 way seats!

As for sport and sport+
Sport mode+ isn't any faster. It changes suspension, shift points and gives you a bias of 70% rear, 30% front as opposed to 50/50.
So it's great if you want to have some fun going through thr Rockies and want to push the car to its limits! Your rpm will be up, the suspension and steering stiffened and in the middle of the power band ready to rock. So I guess if your racing someone through those twisty roads it will ultimately be faster.

I absolutely love my GS tech! and can't wait for summer to drive the ice field highway to see what she can do in sport+

Sport+ reduces the dreaded Lexus "wallow". The ride will feel harsher but the handling in the curves improves.

Not so, the 70/30 torque split happens because of the mechanical design of the center differential, so is there in all modes. The "50/50" split described in several places is done by locking up the clutch pack in the center differential. This can't stay engaged all the time or else it would wear things out very quickly, so there aren't any drive modes that permanently engage it.

I'm new to the vehicle and that's what My salesman told me

Now I know why I busted up a rim on my new GS AWD even before the first tank of gas was used!!

Snowy day and slippery roads. Came around a curve and the backend kicked out up against a curb. I was baffled and then down right confused when the shop gave me an RX350 loaner. The RX back end does not kick out at all, so I was left scratching my head as to why, if they are both 50/50???

Do you know of a technical source that describes how the drive train works? Obviously a very important consideration when driving the vehicle in varing conditions!

I saw your post about smashing a rim on your brand new GS. Still hurts just to think about that.

The AWD system on the RX is very different. It has no center differential at all, just a clutch to engage the drive to the rear wheels. So it's a front wheel drive vehicle until slip is detected, then becomes a 4WD with a "locked" center diff (e.g. front and rear driveshafts always turn the same speed) for a little while.

The GS is always an AWD vehicle, which I think is better, but with the rear biased torque split and center differential, you can get the back end to kick out in the snow. The control system should lock up the center differential pretty quickly when this happens, but it can still be a bit surprising if you're used to FWD.

They gave me a nice loaner, but the dealership doesn't seem to have their poop in a group.
