Default Tire inflation psi randomly displays dashes (----) for a brief moment

Does your tire inflation psi reading ever randomly display dashes (-----) for a brief minute or so when first starting the engine before actually displaying the psi reading? I've had this happen a couple of times for no apparent reason that would prevent normal TPMS signal operation, but within a minute the dashes are replaced with the actual psi reading. I'm just wondering if this is a somewhat normal event to have happen from time-to-time.

I think it's normal. I get this from time to time when the weather gets cold. When the car starts going, the system gets updated fairly quickly. Congrats on the purchase! Enjoy.

Thanks for the confirmation on it being normal.

And I appreciate the kind words!

I've noticed this a couple times on my new GS. As you say it goes out fairly quickly and isn't accompanied with a TPMS alarm so I'm thinking its normal.

I saw that in the manual describing possible sensor interference, but the few random times it has happened there was nothing around that would have caused any interference (like being out in the middle of a large parking lot). I think there is a slight delay at random times when the car is first started and (I'm guessing) the computer maybe goes through a quick self-check mode of various things and the TPMS sensor signal is one of those things from time-to-time. The 2-3 times it has happened with me the psi readings have come back to replace the dashes on the display within a matter of seconds. I'm quite sure it's very normal as others have confirmed they've experienced it too.
