Somehow that part always confuses me.
In most states, sales tax is paid on monthly lease payments, not full vehicle value. Not in Texas. In Texas people that lease pay full sales tax on a leased vehicle when most other states get to only pay tax on the depreciated value of the vehicle throughout its lease term (that is its cost minus its residual).

Yes, that is correct, at least in CA anyway.

This sucks. So basically because I'm in New York I can't get a Lexus at a good price? What about a lease broker? I heard they are able to get cars from different states.

The national promotional rate as seen on Lexus.com is only a grand more in NY vs CA, which over the course of three years is not that much to balk about for such a fine machine! So I would think you CAN get a good deal out there... have you tried shopping the dealers via email and what are they quoting you?

Damn the 2015 is so dirt cheap now. That's pretty much a Camry payment.

price of car? if you dont mind...I agree though, this thread has done wonders for my confidence at the dealer with this car.

When I heard back from dealer today with pricing my reaction was
Price was amazing!

Chuckled as I casually explained to him that he could definitely do better than that

In terms of OC, Tustin Lexus gave me the best price. They originally quoted me $550 with $0 drive off for a 2015 GS350 Fsport as their best price. I showed them my offer and they would not match. They have a lot in stock including a crap load of 2014's. 2014's have Lojack on them and I did not like that. Don't want to pay extra for something I don't need.

Half way to my drive to Thousand Oaks, the internet sales guy texts me a better offer. Not $509, but pretty good. I said too late, I am on my way to Thousand Oaks. To be honest, Paul was such a good guy and came out with the best price on the first shot, I did not mind driving out to his dealership.

I think he might have 1 left in stock.
Can you give more details in terms of Sales Price/Money Factor/Residual Value please? Looking to get one soon. Also going to get in contact with Paul at Thousand Oaks. Thanks in advance.

Can you all please share your cap cost and money factor? While monthly pmt is helpful, really I'm most interested in what these dealers are actually selling the cars for. I was just in a dealer looking at a 2015 f sport with MSRP about 57.6k. What should I be able to negotiate that down to?

Mine was a $57,685, cap cost ended up at $51,029 with the tier 1 + mf being at .00090 (this works up to 48 months, choose your term and mileage).
