I just got my 2015 GS350 FSport, ML, IPA, BSM, Z2 accessory package during the December to Remember promotion, its a great time to lease with factory money factors and rebates going on now!

$505 month + tax (Orange County Ca)
36 month w 15k miles per year
Longo beat everyone (even Thousand Oaks by just $5 a month) via internet shopping, and also had the most selection to choose from... The money factor for tier 1+ is .00090 from Lexus up to 48 months (credit score 720 or above only). Get the price (Capitalized Cost) around $51k (depending on options and MSRP of course, Im using my car/deal as example), and the rest is math and residuals (which are set by Lexus depending on mileage), depending on how long you wanna go for and how many miles you need. You can drop more down to lower your payment, but it wont save you much in the long run so may as well keep the cash in your account.
If you plan to sell, trade, or keep the car dont worry about the miles... that''s only required to pay if you decide to walk away and drop it off at the end of term. Usually you can trade it out at the end for another car, of course more miles will always lower the value of the vehicle. Or if you fall in love and drive it too much, just keep it!

It was a scorchin' deal buddy, if not the best ever for a 2015 F Sport.. Better than the factory advertised Southern California promotional offer after you consider the higher priced car and the extra miles I got!! Shopping via the internet makes the dealers work against each other just to get you in the door instead of fighting them all day long for every last buck.. this way we WIN! And oh yeah, no haggling once youre there, just choose your favorite color, drive it, and sign them papers. 
On a lease the tax you pay is determined by your monthly payment and where you live, then you just pay by month. I havent made the payment yet since the first payment was also included (forgot to mention that part!) but it came out to $545 after tax.
So if you multiply $40 x 35 that brings tax cost over 3 years to just $1400 for a $58k car!
Leasing a Lexus is also great because the residuals are high and they dont even require higher insurance than if you were financing a car (some other companies do, no names mentioned) Every bit helps..

With a lease, if you total it day one, gap insurance will cover the cost of the vehicle (what remains to be paid back) but not what you put down. You could potentially lose 8 grand in a heartbeat.

Also, the dealer is using the $1900 cash rebate to get you down to $1211.55 which is why that's all you need to pay. If you are in LA or OC, you can get a better deal.

Although I am not sure why you are calculating your cap cost by adding residual plus payments, the dealer should simply tell you what your cap cost is! To help you further though, my cap cost ended up at $51,029.27 (and your right, our MSRP is identical, nice choice!). So you may have some room to move, but your definitely getting in the ball park!
I am not sure what the supply and demand is like in your area, or how hungry the dealers may be getting. I would suggest calling all all dealers in your area and ask if they can beat the price you got, and tell them if they can you will come pick up the car TONIGHT (get them excited)! Then when youre there, maybe have them toss in some all weather mats or some F Sport license plate frames (or accessories of your choice) too just to seal the deal, anything you can think of while youre there - before you agree to any terms!
Let us know what you do.

Can someone clear something up for me about the sales tax on a lease?
From my understanding, ur only paying the tax on the leased amount throughout ur lease right? Then if u wanna buy it out, then u have to pay tax again on the residual value?
Somehow that part always confuses me.
