Default Traction control crazy intrusive

Thats one of the only things I hate about this car. For example today Im sitting at a light in S+, I take off rather hard but not full throttle and the car immediately cuts ALL power. The TC light is going crazy and I wasnt t moving, about a half second later it goes and the TC light is still flashing til about 30 mph but the car wasnt even spinning that much. Now once I floored it at 20 mph and it downshifted to 1st and it definitely spun and the TC intervened and cut a little power. Another weird thing a couple of weeks ago I had the TC off (held button for 5 seconds), S+ and in M1. I brake torqued to about 2000rpm and when I let off the car spun like crazy to about 4000rpm and then it automatically upshifted and totally killed the pull. Has anyone ever had this happen?

I know in my 2GS the VSC will let you have a little fun before it intervenes and beeps at you lol.

It should upshift at redline when in manual mode. I don't think Toyota cars bounce at redline and stay like that until u shift manually like some do.

Momma traction always cuts the fun. I had TRAC off (VSC on) the other day and the car sure slide but VSC up-shifted so early it completely neutered the experience. You have to have everything off to have some fun but I'm not willing to do that more than the one time I tried.

I don't have aTRAC button anyway that I can see on my GS 350 AWD, VSC yes.
And don't see anything in the manual about it?
Please comment.

It's the same VSC button. You press it once, it'll turn TRAC off ( up to a certain speed limit, I don't remember exactly). If you hold it, TRAC and VSC will be turned off permanently until the car is restarted or the button is pushed again.

Thank You Yardie !
We been spared winter so far, but it's coming this weekend so I'm REALLY looking forward to see how my new ride handles in the snow.

Will try running the stock Michelin Primacy MXM4's.

Run Nokian Wr2's on my FWD Gen 3 TL and find them to be a great all year round. They are rated as an actually snow tire and have worked very well in the snow. And on ice. Little noisy which the new WR3's have addressed.

Im on the Dunlops and theyre pretty new thers a lot of tread left. I Know it upshifts for you at redline but it upshifted at 4k at WOT which was a buzzkill.

To OP... in your Lexus 4GS you cannot brake torque yourcar and launch it like other cars because our cars have what toyota calls SMART STOP technology. The purpose of this is if you ever have your accelerator pedal stuck at wide open throttle, applying the brakes will cut off engine power to safely stop a vehicle and prevent accident and death.

To confirm this technology I put the car in Park mode and rev the engine, while the engine is revving I step on the brake pedal lightly. You will immediatly see the revs drop to idle speed regardless if I floored the gas pedal. This is, really only a safety feature and really annoys me when I want to brake torque and get that tire to smoke.

That feature suppose to kick in when ur at 35mph or more. What the heck?! At least that's how it works on my Camry and I can still brake torque. I've never tried it on my GS but now I will. This would suck if it works like that.

Ive definitely brake torqued it at about 2500rpm. So im with ItzFilyO it probably occurs when the cars moving.

Geeze it's a good thing Lexus realizes that most of you lease and are making it harder to torture the main components of their cars LOL

This is all because of the stuck gas pedals on the Camrys back then.
