Default Just got curb rash on my bumper today!!!

I am so bummed out right now. My car has zero scratches, dents, and rock chips until now. Today I let my wife drive the car just one hour and this happend. I was cleaning out my wifes RX350 when she decided she needed to go to Target to get some stuffs for the house. I gave her my keys and off she went to Target. Well she came back with a look on her face and that made me ask her, what happend? She told me that when she park the car at the curb she went a little too far and bumped into the sidewalk. Took a look and there it was road rash. I have a clear bra installed on it but apparently that did not help. Looks like next week I will need to take out that touch up paint. NOTE TO ALL..... DO NOT let anybody drive your car including your wife.

To make matters worst I just avoided an accident the other night when a monster truck tire was laying in the middle of the road. I escape one accident and got into another one.

Ugh, so much for bad luck only coming in 3's! I feel for ya, I hate that...even when its down low to where you can't really see it unless you're looking for it.

Good thing I did not lower my car yet, I was deciding on getting RSR Super Downs or Tanabe springs. If this had happend when it was already lowered the damage would have been much worst. I guess I better leave my car stock height for now. I did not understand your quote about bad luck coming in 3's until I took a look at your recent thread and realize what you meant. Geez is there a full moon out tonight or what?

Oh and sorry to hear about your dents.

Thanks! I have a very slight bit of curb rash in the same spot as yours. You have to get down on all 4's and look to see it. Is yours visible from standing height?

My scratch extends from the bottom to the top. I can see the scratch while standing near the car.

360 degree view camera would've come in handy here.

A car with this much tech should have 360 camera standard if not then at least as an option.

sucks, I feel your pain.

About a year ago Discount Tire damaged one of my rims on my TL, so they took my car to a rim paint shop and painted all of my rims (usual cost $100 per rim). The rims looked soo good, I was so happy. Next day I went to this gathering and I had to park on the street, there was this cop who worked as a Security for this facility standing near by. As I was parking next to the curb on the left, he start telling me, its ok come closer come closer, so I listened to him and hit the curb. Not only hit the curb I damaged my brand new painted RIM.

Imagine that.,

This is the exact reason my wife doesn't drive my GS 350.

Actually, that didn't make things worse - it is good that you avoided that accident

My wife is very careful, but she is used to driving the Jeep, whenever she drives the Lexus I am always concerned about this happening. In fact, I remind her every time that its really low in the front lol

Ouch sorry to hear. I got a real nasty rock chip on the front bumper that I can't even touch up . Gonna have to repaint the whole front bumper some day . Just sucks what we all have to go through .

And my local freeway is doing construction for like the next 6 months at random spots along the freeway so I can't even drive it to work . Smh!
