I also had to hunt down the sales person every 3 days to get an update, which was the same every time "Soon, I will let you know when it gets here", I waited for two weeks, yet I was told that it will arrive in 2-3 days. As I said earlier, the dealer doesn't like just to bring one car from another dealer, they rather wait till they do 4-5 trades and then put them on the truck, this way they save transportation fees.

I hate waiting for a new car. I just want to sign and drive it home the same day. Good thing SoCal is full of car dealerships and unless u go really crazy with the color combo and options, most dealers can get the car u want through dealer trades on the same day.

I am in sales

That salesman wouldn't have an office when he walked into the dealership the next morning

Honestly, this is why I went to Lexus from Infiniti. I had a Q50 preordered with very specific options and the salesman kept failing to deliver on updates. Many times I had to go in person, hunt him down, and ask him about it because I could never reach him in his office.

What pushed me over the edge was the last time I walked into his office, he was signing off on a deal with a customer that took delivery of one of their first cars on the lot (which mine wasn't in). He just kinda dismissed me like yeah I'll call you when it shows up, don't know when. Have a nice day. Didn't bother to offer tracking info, show what port it was stuck at, anything.

Sales guys are critical. I realize they are busy but if we both agree that my purchase is in progress and will take time to arrive and you will ping me once a week to let me know the status, just follow through or lose a sale. He lost a sale, and so did Infiniti.
