I was coming home late from work going down interstate 75S in a section of the highway that is not lighted and the only light came from my car. There was no traffic so i was driving about 70mph on the right side. All of the sudden a huge monster truck sized tire appeared up the road. I was listenting to pandora so my attention to the road was relaxed. By the time i realized it was there it was almost too late. I did a emergency lane change manuever at 70 mph. It was too late for me to do a hard brake because i was going too fast. The tires squealed but never broke traction. I manage to avoid a terrible front end accident and luckily nobody was on the highway or on the other lane when i swerved. I turned on my emergency lights and parked the car on the side of the road. I went to the rogue tire and pulled it off the highway to prevent other people from hitting it. My heart was pumping and since no damage was done i was actually smiling. I was very impressed with the handling of this car and just grateful lexus hit a home run on redesigning the GS. My car was NOT the Fsport model and would imagine that the Fsport would be even better. Luckily i drive with the sport+ setting enabled most of the time and this probably helped out. The leather wrap mod i just did on my car just one day before, worked great at giving my hands a good grip of the wheels for that manuver. CL members be safe and have fun in your GS.

Try driving in Texas. Here its a normal thing to see: tires, book shelves, ladders, or just plain old pianos on the roads. People seem to aim for your lane at least 5-6 times a day, and no one knows what is the turn signal is for. And if you ask them if they know what turn signal is, they will shoot you.

Good to hear the car handled great and you survived unscathed. I live in Texas and concur with FastTags. Unfortunately, I wasn't as lucky. Cars on both sides so no evasive maneuver possible.

I ran over a latter last night on a country road. So I found this thread pretty ironic. Luckily it was in my wife's 4Runner and it didn't hurt anything or not that I noticed thus far anyways.

I always see people carrying ladders and it extends beyond the end of the truck's bed like it could just slip out at anytime. I'm like thaa helll?! Just put the bottom end in ur truck, don't leave it hanging like that.

Lucky! And good for you for removing it. Awhile back, probably almost 10 years ago now I was driving my nearly brand new S2000 to the track and hit a tire retread from a truck.

I couldn't move over as I had a car next to me and couldn't stop so I just lifted and tried my best to center my car over it. The damage wasn't so bad but I never got it fixed, so there are still parts of the undertray that are messed up. There was no easy way to stop and take the tire retread off the road since there was a good amount of traffic on the road and I probably would have gotten run over trying to remove it

The weirdest thing I see on the road personally was a 6x4 feet Browning safe just laying there occupying the HOV lane in California years ago. A Honda Civic had crashed into it and guess who won? Well lets just say the safe was still intact.
