Default '15 on the lot

Found a '15 hiding in back of local dealership. We all know there are some minor changes. What we didn't know was that the sticker price went down! Base price and F Sport package account for an $1800 discount. What do you think of that!

Sounds good. If I were a betting man, I would bet the most desired option packages are 'adjusted' to make up for that base price reduction. And where are the pics? If you got close enough to one to see the numbers, you should have snapped a picture!

Wow - looks like Navigation is now "included" in the price. The GS was always advertised as starting at $47,700 but you could not buy one like that because it didn't include the Navigation system that was always included. The MSRP now starts at $48,600 a difference of $900 but according to Edmunds.com it includes Navigation (it is now shown as a $0.00 option).

Just for comparison I used Edmund's car builder and compared the price of a 2014 GS350 AWD F-Sport with BSM and Park Assist to a 2015 GS350 AWD F-Sport with BSM and Park Assist. This is exactly how my car was configured and how many of the GS350 F-Sports are configured in my area.

The MSRP for the 2014 is $59,395 - nearly $60k while the 2015 is $57,805.

Invoice price also drops from $55,228 to $53,766. I wonder how this will effect lease rates - might just be attractive enough for me to lease another F-Sport in 2016 when my lease on the 2014 is up assuming prices stay low.

Default lower incentives and residuals

My guess is that the '14 MSRP was too high and the marked was forcing Lexus to offer large discounts off MSRP. This was good for leases - residual was artificially high (since its a % of MSRP). By dropping the price, Lexus will likely reduce the incentives and the leases will be more expensive.

What's strange is the Lexus site, build your car is still down. This week I used Motor Trends Build and price with options and printed it. Today that tab is grayed out. Very strange.

I tried the build site today and it's still showing 2014 models.

It depends. As others have said, they have been selling 2014s well under invoice. They are lowering the price hoping to not have to discount so much.

When sticker prices go down so does resale value.
One of the main reason the GS sells is because of the big discounting.
Even with the lower sticker, the GS will still need discounting for good sales numbers.

The 2015 MSRPs from that list is more expensive than the current ones.

2015 GS 350 RWD is $48,600 and AWD is $50,850.

2014 MSRP for RWD is $47,700 and AWD is $49,950

I have looked searched everywhere and can't find a solution to the path a car would take from Japan to the DFW area. Of course it travels by ship to the US. Would it unload at California or steam on around to Florida? Next would it be transported by rail or truck? Just Curious, well anxiously awaiting.

So also in the last few days Edmunds and Motor Trend Options pricing is bouncing around. Some are up $100 to $150 others down $100 to $150. It almost looks like they are guessing since they don't have any real hard data on pricing. Anybody have window sticker pics to share?

Good to know my salesperson wasn't pulling my chain when he said that a price drop was coming for '15
