Default Can I negotiate much on a CPO 13' F-Sport?

Went to my local Lexus dealer today and they had zero CPO FSports in stock but another dealer has one so I set a appointment tomorrow for it to get shipped to the dealer close to house. I am not sure of the list of options but It is a F-Sport with 17k miles. Its listed for $42,988 and is CPO you guys think I can knock it down to around $39k without too much hassle?

Although it is a '13, which is now just about 2 model years old, I think offering under 40 may be pushing it. My experience is Lexus tends to be a little more reluctant to bargain with those certified vehicles. Have you looked elsewhere to see what the going rate is for this car? I see on the listing the offering price is supposed to be 5K less than retail. I'd try and verify that. You can always offer them 39K. They may be willing to bite if you are going to finance with them, where they think they can make some money on the other side. Are you trading something? Paying with cash? Who knows, you might just get lucky.

Hopefully you'll get other suggestions before you head out to check out the ride. Good luck!

I'm going to finance, Im putting 10k down. I had a issue with my mortgage and my interest rates got bumped to 4.1% but they said they can definitely beat that. 40-42k seems to be the going rate for CPO 13' FSports in my area I saw one listed for $39.5 with 25k miles. My offer will be determined by the options of the car when I see it when I get out of work.

I want to see what the salesman will hook me up with since my 99' GS300 was bought brand new from them.

I got my car pre owned from Lexus of PP and they wouldn't budge too much on the Internet price of the car. I got them down a little over $1k only to realize a year later they just took off the CPO certification smh. Hopefully you have better luck haggling at the sister dealership.

I couldn't get much off either.

To increase your value think more strategically about things that cost you a lot of money but cost them little: E.g.:
1. I had them throw in a bunch of small stuff(e.g., map updates, a cargo net, etc)
2. If you are going to mod your car, you may want to consider negotiating the labor for that stuff as well.
3. Extended CPO warranties can only be bought at time of purchase so you don't have a lot of room to negotiate there as well, but you can shave that down a bit.
4. In addition, service plans - a dealer service plan can usually be pretty cheaply thrown in, a Lexus service plan will have a high floor since that isn't their own product and their margins are less.

At the end of the day, the worst thing they can say is no.

yardie876 Same thing happened to me but I realized the next day. Argued for weeks with GM and then got Lexus Customer Support involved in the process. Took a month but managed to get them to step up and certify the car. They were not happy!

Without your knowledge? If so, that stinks and is probably illegal. Depending on mileage of the car and your driving tendencies (mileage driven per year), CPO may not even be worth the premium they charge for it. If the car is in decent shape, and they won't budge, have them drop the price for dropping the certification. Hell, it is a Lexus. It's built rock solid! And depending on how long you plan on keeping the car, you may be paying for something you may never benefit from.

When I bought the car it was only 8 months old so I really wouldn't benefit from it being CPO but certain things like them giving me two sets of keys required in a CPO sale would have been nice. I had a nice little heated argument with the sales manager months later until he said too bad you can't do anything now and hung up. Every Apple has a bad seed though... I like the dealership otherwise.

Im in the same boat. I got the car, got them to wave to $800 DOC fee and take $1000 off the price. Was pretty satisfied with it so I am speaking with the financial dude and he tells me the car isnt CPO anymore which pissed me off because the manager didnt tell me to my face. Not really a big deal the car only has 17k miles and the factory warranty is still going so I'll be good.

I would've held on to that CPO warranty. It's bumper to bumper and lasts 3 years from the day you purchase, or 100k total vehicle miles. That'll certainly outlive the manufacture warranty.

I take that back...apparently the worst thing they can do is say yes and take away the CPO designation
