Default DRL always on "full" brightness

Hi Guys,

I've recently came across a site that sells a bypass unit that would allow me to bypass the DRL brightness adjustment settings to "Full" brightness even when the headlights are on. Instead of the "dim" mode when the headlights are on.

The problem is i can't seem to find the site anymore, i'm pretty sure i found the site in this forum. Can anyone help?

Thanks a million!

Cost would be about $258 plus shipping.

Not sure if that's worth spending. You can't even notice the difference when driving.

How do you control it? I watched the videos and they never showed the headlights on with the brighter LEDs. I actually tend to drive with only the LEDs on 90% of the time

I'm guessing the DRLs drop around 30%-50% in brightness when the headlights are turned on. The DRLs are still very visible even at the reduced brightness, so I'm not sure it would be worth the cost to have them at full brightness with the headlights on.

Yeah, if you do this, limit it to car show usage. If it's anything like the Audi folks that brighten their DRLs with VCDS (think Techstream), full brightness at night with headlights on will likely get you high beamed by other drivers. Daylight makes it actually pretty deceptive as to how bright the DRLs really are at full brightness.

Good point! I've also heard that modified full DRL brightness on the Audi at night with headlights on can easily be mistaken for high-beams too. Read somewhere that it actually caused an altercation between the Audi driver and another driver.

Might have been over on Audizine actually. I kind of recall reading about that particular incident when I was messing with the DRLs on my old car.
