Yeah, the problem with CUVs is the higher center of gravity renders them even less car-like than a minivan. My T&C is relatively sporty given that it is a minivan.

Last week I owns both car 14' Odyssey, 13 Highlander then I traded my Highlander for GS350 luxury. I love my minivan that Highlander that won't benefit me anything and its boring. Don't get me wrong , it is a good SUV but I dont' think it is near my minivan. So, I traded Highlander for GS350. Now , this Gs350 (wow wow wow). Even both my kids love them. they 're 3 and 5.
Before I have kids, I would never thought I could drive a minivan but I drove my dad van and I think it is a must have. Just take a test drive for a week, you may changed your mind.

One thing about minivans is that they are not built nearly as good as a Lexus or other luxury brands. My brother bought a 2006 Toyota Sienna, Brand new and I have driven it when new. When new it was very smooth and quite especially the engine. Then 5 yeara later I drove it again and the engine was coarse and has a rough idle at 80,000miles on the odo. And thats after a tune up at the toyota dealership. Plastic trim pieces and buttons on that car was falling apart and rattled like crazy.

I drove a 2006 Lexus LS 430 with 245,000 miles on it and did not have one problem with it. That LS engine was running just as smooth as when I bought it brand new. And despite ita mileage it had zero rattles.

Now if Lexus makes a Minivan I would be the first one in line for the preorder. So there is a market for them. I would get the Mercedes R van but because of reliability Id rather not.

Of course a minivan won't hold up like a Lexus, especially an LS...

But it will hold up if Lexus builds it. Even though Lexus is technically Toyota. I think Toyota are manufactuered to make more profit for the company so they are not as high quality as Lexus. Remember that a fully loaded Sienna Limited AWD cost about $40,000 in 2006 I could get a Lexus IS or ES for that price and it will hold up better than that Sienna. Thats why if Lexus builds a van.... only then would I consider a van.

Of course Toyota can't compare to Lexus. But I need a minivan for my family needs. My last minivan was 2008 Sienna and had zero problem, I sold it when it was 210miles and I tortured that minivan really good. I used it for work.

Toyotas aren't built to the same level as a Lexus, no. Just because a loaded Sienna and an ES cost the same doesn't make them equal, a minivan is built to fit an entirely different set of desires than a luxury car.

a Sienna will show age as it ages, but it will always run. Very reliable.
