Newbie Navigation Question
Hi all,
I've had the 14 gs350 AWD for about a month now and LOVE this car! The only thing I have a problem with is that compared to every navigation on the planet it SUX! Am I missing something, I really hope I am, because my traffic button will turn red and when I click it all it says is "Traffic" Even my wives BMW and my cell phone will suggest alternate routes AND the thing doesn't factor traffic into the arrival time! PLEASE tell me I need to update something or call somebody!

the traffic is done through XM (at least on the '13s) Mine only comes up and says "slow traffic a head on the route in x miles. on the screen the road will come up red. Where are you in NY. For me on Long Island only the southern state, LIE and part of the Sag. work.
If I'm on a time schedule, I mostly use Waze on my iPhone

In the map screen, you can click on route -> detour -> around traffic (or something to that effect -- will have to check the car itself) after you see the red traffic warning / get the warning voice. You're right, it should offer you an alternate route for convenience. However, I'm not sure if it really saves you any time though. In my experience info on XM traffic lags big time compared to Google Maps (now that it has Waze info).

For the money I pay (I live in southern westchester NY and commute through the city every day), I shouldn't have to be using my cell phone. I guess ill download that app.
