Default Dimming display

Quick and probably stupid question. but I can't figure out where the setting is - The display seems to enjoy dimming quite a lot, any way to reduce its sensitivity to true night or just turn off the dimming?

Assuming you are talking about the nav display since the guages have to be dimmed manually. If memory serves, there should be a setting within the menu that allows you to turn off the Day/Night function altogether or choose the dimming for each individually so the display is not so dim at night.

I think its a personalized setting that a lexus dealer has to setup for you. I remember printing out a list of vehicle settings and checking off choices on that list. Then I took my car and that paper to my dealer during my first maintenence visit and they adjusted everything to my satisfaction. I remember one of the settings on that list allows me to choose how sensitive the light sensor is to dim the nav display.

I just sat in my car and checked it out. Click on Menu, and you will see Display in the upper right-hand corner. Click on that and it will give you the option of going to Day Display On. I think if you click that it will stay on the Day Display all the time. It also gives you the option of adjusting both Brightness and Contrast for both Day and Night settings. You can also adjust the display "buttons" for either light blue or dark blue. This was an education for me as well, since I don't think I've ever adjusted them.

Wish the HUD didn't auto-dim. Driving under bridges briefly on a hot sunny day and it fades in and out.
