Default So what options don't you use?

My GS is pretty much full options. I thought it would be nice to have all those little gadgets. But after a period of time I am noticing some of them I simply don't use:

1. Adaptive cruise control
Where is the normal cruise control, I want it back! Here in the Netherlands traffic is quite busy. Everytime someone slots in front of me, it starts braking and keeping a huge distance (even at the minimal setting). Also when approaching a car on the right lane, with a big speed difference, it starts slowing/braking down before I am willing to change lanes.

2. Night vision
The idea was nice, but in general I don't have the time to be staring at the screen. So this one also is not being used a lot.

I do not use the Night View, Pre-collision and Radar cruise control.

ad ACC: You can switch from the adaptive mode to the "normal". After switching on ACC button move controller forward. It disables "adaptive" function and you will have the non-adaptive one.

ad NightView: It is useless for me too. In BMW or Merc is it done better because when system recognize any object like pedestrian or animal there is a notification on HUD or flashing "!" on the display together with beep. So you don't need keep watching because of alerts.

Btw. If you hold the cruise control handle pushed in for 2 seconds toward the dashboard, it will go into conventional mode.

Ok, I'll try that! Thanks for the advice on the adaptive cruise control!

I heard indeed the night vision was also discontinued on the GS models.

I think it's standard, but I never use the sunshade.

Sometimes I wonder if I had DRCC and LKA if I would actually use it? I don't care for the mole on top of the steering column that comes with it though.

I rarely use the apps. I just pull over and use my smartphone if I need to find a business, then input the address into the car's nav. I prefer playing my own music, so the internet radio gets no use.

I don't have DRCC on the GS, but we do have it on the Jeep and use it all the time on the highway, trips, etc.

Options I don't use:

1. Sport S+ Mode
2. Apps
3. Rear sunshade/side sunshades

I have the cold weather package. This means I also get the headlamp washers. I have only used it once just to test it out and never ever needed to use it again. I think its a novelty item on this car. I can understand if you have a SUV and do offroading and would need this feature. But even then I highly doubt it can clean mud off of the headlamps without also including wipers too. Also I never had the need to press the SOS button but it does make me feel tempted to try it.

Headlight washers are good in the winter when salt and grime builds up on your headlights. The pressure is good enough without wipers. Also if your headlights are on and you use the washer fluid most lexus cars also turn on the headlamp sprayers.

I don't see why paddle shifters are even an option, does anyone use them?

I love the paddle shifters! You can keep two hands on the wheel to downshift, shift when going around corners, etc.

1) Enform apps
2) Power windows LOL ... I can't stand wind noise so I rarely ever roll the windows down.
