With it being the hybrid ES, my guess is he was commuting a far distance, wanted the fuel savings, and was a driver that didn't appreciate the dynamic capabilities of the GS. Although...I'm not sure why that driver would have bought an F Sport...but I've seen stranger things happen! Plus the loss he took would wipe out the fuel savings for a *long* time.

My guess: The dealer made the story up.

Sadly I know people who have done this sort of thing. The ROI rarely makes sense if you are upside down on a trade-in. But all they see is, I am saving $100 a month in gas.

The 2GS had issues brand new, too - the yaw rate sensor was recalled on my 1998.

thanks for all your responses. Honestly it seems like the dealer made this story up abt the car. The first owner only had it for 3 months or so. I bet they had this same steering problem from the beginning but the dealer neglected to diagnose and fix. Oh well that dealer isnt near where i currently live and is inconvenient to get to anyway. Thanks for the deal on the car nalley, but my service business is going elsewhere...

I'll snap a pic of the service record to show exactly what they replaced and how they describe the problem. Hope this helps if anyone else experiences this problem. I posted on another IS thread about those F Sports having a similar problem but dealers were not addressing it.
