Hi, first time posting here, but I've been lurking for sometime now. My 93 Lexus LS400 is at its last stretch. I've just put in about $1,400 in repairs and in the market for a new car. I'm most likely be getting the 2014 GS350 f-sport in white. My local lexus has on that's has an MSRP of $59,292.

It's my first time buying a car so I'm not sure how to bargain for the best deal. Was hoping you guys can lend me some good price to negotiate. I should also mention I have very good credit and will be financing and not leasing. I will be putting about $10,000-15,000 down.

I think I've seen numbers range from $52-55K on here. Some may be even lower.

I got mine down to $52,500 before taxes and fees and my MSRP is about the same as yours.

Yeah, I'm consistently seeing ~$53K +/- $1000 (before taxes and fees). Being in California has its perks.

The best way is to contact the Internet sales managers via email at multiple dealers. Let them fight it out via email. You want to focus on the cost of the vehicle FIRST. Don't get into discussions of financing, down payments, etc. Just what is their bottom line best price.

I followed this and was only at my dealer for less than an hour to preview the car after they got it ready and to sign my paperwork. There was zero negotiating done at the dealer. Was a very pleasant process.

Yea screw negotiating at the dealer. What a waste time and energy! and sometimes u don't get what u want in the end.

I was going to use these guys to lease an Fsport, but decided to wait for the 2015's or just not get one. Anyways they seem like they had pretty good prices, I was quoted 410 minus tax, with 3k down. Some of you are saying let the dealers compete with each other, I only have one lexus dealer here in town. So do I go further out of town and get prices from them? How do I go about letting the dealers work it out? Do I tell one dealer the other dealers price?

The way I do it is, I go to as many dealer as I can (100-200 miles range from my home).

I sit down with the salesmen or their manager, or their manager's manager (don't know wtf is that but there is such a thing), then get them to their lowest price, then I leave and go to the next dealer and do the same thing again.

If u can, go straight to the Internet Sales Manager, they usually skip the negotiating part. The real one, not a fake internet manager, yes there is such thing as fake Internet Manager! They're just another sales person that goes back and forth and play games with u.

Prices do varies between dealer and one offered me $6K more than others. That's an insult to me really, $6K more!! and they keep pressuring me to buy from them. Sorry, but I wasn't born yesterday and I don't just cough up extra $$ for the same car if I can get it for less.

I agree with the Internet approach. Drove 100 miles to Atlanta & saved $5K. The one local dealer was aware we had done that and the next time around they stepped it up. It went a lot smoother. It probably helped that the entire sales staff had turned over and there were quotas to be met.

The car buying process is one of my least favorite things in life. I have kept my cars for 10-15 yrs because of that. The last couple yrs I had a flurry of buy/sell trying to get it right. I think I found the one with this GS F-Sport. Price was a factor, thus, the earlier blunders. Patience, a lot of test rides, narrowing it down and knowing exactly what I wanted, and the Internet worked for me. Good Luck

So I got one of the dealer to lower price to $53,354. Do you think he will go any lower? If I told him 52,000 will that be asking too much? He told me invoice was $55,354 and that he was going $2000 below invoice, and that's the best he can do. Is he speaking the truth?

A few months ago 53K would be a good price, but now that the 2015 is coming out anytime now, I think u can go down to 52K.

Agreed, $52K is a decent target number. When you get to the point that you're haggling over $500 bucks, I would just buy it.
