Default DRS in California w/o special order?

Can someone - anyone - tell me if it's possible to find a new '14 (or '15 when they arrive) F Sport equipped with LDH/DRS in California? It's my must-have option but doesn't seem to come to California unless you special order and I'd rather not do that.

It doesn't seem that Toyota thinks we want that here in CA, you may have to special order, or get one from Texas... a lot seem to have DRS there.

Yes! I've checked inventory in Texas and DRS is practically standard on all their F Sports! I don't get it.

We don't need it here in CA cause we always have traffic. I barely use my steering wheel.

Yep! It seems that Toyota decides which part of the country wants what options and then just about every car shipped to that area has the exact same specs. Frustrating for us, but probably makes selling them and distribution easier.

So we're stuck with what corporate deems appropriate for a given region? Ugh. Still, with California being such a large, diverse, important market - not to mention the car culture - you would think we get to have all the bells and whistles.

I'm not looking forward to special ordering and losing all my bargaining power in the process.

Again: Can anybody help?

You can have your dealer trade the car. Funny thing, my car was purchased in Serramonte CA, which was a dealer trade from North Carolina, and shipped to TEXAS.

If you need a good contact, that will find you the car you want, PM me, ill send you my salesman's info. He will find you any option you want and have a dealer trade with them.

I have DRS/HUD Fsport with a lot of the bells and whistles.

When I bought my '13 the only one they had on the lot in the color I wanted had DRS - sometimes you will find it when you least expect it...and mine was the general managers car. Stick with the dealer you like working with and they will find the car for ya and they will trade if they have to. Good luck!

Dealers do city to city and state to state trades all the time. If you want a car with DRS from Texas, the right dealer will get it for you with no hassle. I've seen Infiniti do this alot to get Q50's shifted around.

Yes, dealers can request them once they are built. I managed to get one diverted to my dealership while it was still in transit.

It's all a matter of what your local dealer wants to try and sell.
