Default GS FSport RWD 5000 Mile Service Any Good?

Since oil change is every 10K miles and the RWD has staggered wheels, so there is no tire rotation, will the 5K mile service do any good? Or is it just a waste of time?

It's a good chance to get your wheels addressed if you've got the runs in the paint that many of us had, and to have them adjust settings you can't touch. I had them change the one touch blinker from 3 to 5 blinks. Took them a while and they had to look it up since it's the first one they performed. It's also a good opportunity for the dealer to check all the log data in the computer for faults, catch something bad after the initial 5k shakedown.

I did my 5 and 10k's already, 15k is next but it's questionable whether or not I'll run it by the dealer. Unless I'm having problems I may skip the 15k. It's just kicking tires and checking fluid levels if I'm not mistaken.

I've been looking at this too, and I think I'm going to skip it and just take it in for the 10k, the only thing I'd have them change anyway is the same as Afrosheen, and make the one-touch 5 blinks. I can wait.

I skip the 5K services because it's just inspections and not free. Seems like a waste of time and money.

Changing the blinks is pretty easy. I saw a post somewhere with easy instructions.

I have the Carista app so I don't need to go to the dealer to make changes.

So I think it's safe to say that I can skip the 5K services.

Yup, I was just typing up a reply to your message. I'll look into your data shortly. Definitely wanna figure out the seat supports issue.

I'm skipping my 5k just because my nearest dealer is 200mi away, unless I otherwise happen to be going out of town at the same time then I'd schedule it.

If I want their cookies and drinks I'll just stop by and chat up the cashier and parts guy and walk out with cookies and a can of coke.

What about the "maintenance service" scroll that comes on and stays on, if you dont do the 5K service how do you get rid of that?

Is it every 5K or 10K?

I'll see if the Carista app can clear that out.

Search 'lane change blinker' and you'll find a DIY pdf. Very easy, takes about 5mins.
