Default Wow! - My favorite radio station on the move

I cannot believe that I am the only GS owner doing this but have not found any threads which cover this topic.

I am an avid listener to Martini in the Morning, an internet radio station with great swing and jazz based in LA. I can set this on my iPhone and have the GS bluetooth 'pull this in' and play it over the ML system. Great sound quality and for most times, uninterrupted.

It even displays the track and artist names!

Other cars which I have had could not do this. I sold a Jag to get the GS however the bluetooth only worked for phone calls as you might expect.

I was concerned that I was not settling myself up for a $1000 mobile bill but my provider assures me that the sound stream is only a trickle and is unlikely to take me over my monthly allowance.

I steam Pandora from my android to my 4runner, doing 1hr per day (30 mins one way to work) and I never broke 4gb including all my other crap (surfing, email, etc)

but then again I have unlimited with Verizon anyway.

pretty much all new head units from Toyota do this, its part of the basic BT protocol data that can be sent to other BT audio devices.

Most Bluetooth systems have been able to do this for a few years. Even a Toyota Camry I rented in 2011 had no problem pulling in the track info from 4 different phones.

Well I'm dumfounded! What will they think of next!

On an allied subject, has anyone found a way of getting video cotent on to the screen, apart from playing a DVD? It would be good if the USB socket could process video from a stick but I don't see that it does.

Yeah my old 2011 Camry that I traded in for my GS can do this as well and I cannot belive it as well when I first discovered it.

But no playing video content or screen mirroring from the phones.
