Default 20K Service: 2014 ES 300h Loaner

Had my 2013 GS in for 20K Service and they gave me a 2014 ES 300h loaner.
Back in early January, I was on my way to Hilton Head to by Brand new ES350 when I got a call from a GA Dealer to give me a GS350 Lux edition with 7800k miles for 2k more.
I have never looked back, until today when my local dealer gave me a ES300h Loaner.
Boy did I make the correct decision!!!. Not that the 2014 ES isn't a nice car ,but the finish, fit, appointments and ride quality don't come close to the GS.
I just super happy with my purchase, 12K miles in 8 months, no problems @ all plus getting between 31-33 MPH on the interstate trips on premium Gas.. more comfortable that my old Caddy DTS.

I came from an ES and I will agree you can clearly see where the extra money went. The ES is a great value though.

I get ES 350's 75% of the time I take my vehicle in for service. Most of the time there nicely equipped with navigation and a functional XM radio service. They are comfortable and reasonably luxurious, but it's no GS, nor should it be for a starting price about $10k less. About the only level it can compete on is comfort. It still lives up to the shadow Lexus has been trying to get out of for the last few years. Very comfortable, very reliable, very quiet couch on wheels that does everything it can to keep you disengaged from the driving experience and is an absolute bore to drive.

That said, the current crop of ES' are a godsend compared to the ES 330's I used to get

I came from a 2006 Lexus LS430 Ultra Luxury with Air suspension into a 2014 GS 350 RWD Luxury package and can tell you its definatly an upgrade. Considering my LS cost me $72,000 when new and the GS was $56,500 new, was a great value. They both ride very smoothly and filled with tech. I do miss the backseat of my LS and the V8 though. But the GS makes up for it with better handling and updated technology.

When i had my GS service twice at my lexus dealer they loaned me an 2013 IS 350 and a 2014 ES 350 and i can tell you that the GS was the better riding and quality car. Both the ES and IS had too many hard plastic that i end up touching and was not as luxurious. Even the leather did not feel the same as on the GS maby those cars was equiped with nuluxe. Everytime i drive my GS it puts a smile on my face. I am very happy with this purchase and will keep her until she dies.

The GS has all the controls and buttons where i find most convenient and most ergonomic. My major gripe with the new ES and IS was where the cup holders are located and get in the way of your driving experience. Especially the cup holders in the ES must have been an after thought when engineers designed it. Meaning the cup holders in the ES are too small and if i remember correctly was only one cup holder in the front console. In comparison the cup holders in my GS are perfectly position and out of my way but easily accessible.
