I applied 4 coats to the rear emblems and waited atleast a half hour between coats. When I peeled the Plasti-dip off, it also peeled off a few parts of the emblems? Any advice?

That's odd because I did 4 coats too and waited 10 minutes in between coats and it came off very easily without taking off any off the emblem.

I did do pretty light coats and made sure to change the angle I was spraying with each coat. I've read that helps create the break between the body and the emblem.

sweet pic of the emblems side by side... thanks. ride is looking sharp. Can I ask if/what the spacers are needed for? can't you just go with Tanabes alone?

My limited experience with plastidip tells me you should give it more time to cure before peeling off. I found that if you try to remove it too soon that it's too elastic to remove at important break points.

Well I went to get the spacers installed and apparently I got the wrong ones and it was turning out to be a much longer, complicated job... so I pulled the trigger on some new wheels instead. I moved away a little from the Blackout and I was reluctant when I ordered them, but it turned out awesome!

The bronze wheels look great against the black. Nice choice!

@BrooksC - but blacked out tails just don't work for me - I just see too many crap cars with them. You need some contrast to really bring out the lines in the car.

@uhasib - I like it...

Which window tint is everyone using with Obsidian? I want the tint hue to match and not be too blue or anything...

Did you black out your calipers? Maybe gloss black would work?

Nice Ride
now that the springs have settled that drop is perfect!
Are those 20s? seriously debating springs and 20 inchers, but concerned about ride quality vs stock, how is it for you?

thanks

This looks awesome, definitely going to be one of the first things I do when my black GS arrives.
