Default Did you know about the Carista app?

'Sup everyone! We made an Android app called Carista OBD2 that allows you to change your own Lexus Personalized Settings. That includes the "dealer-only" settings like DRLs, auto-off heated seats, etc. (see list below). Furthermore, Carista can diagnose all computers in the car and reset Lexus-specific lights such as ABS, airbag, etc. (which is different from all other OBD2 apps out there, since they only support generic OBD2 diagnostics of the engine and transmission, no other computers). The app runs on Android phones and tablets; we're starting development on an iOS version now.

Just letting everyone know that such a thing exists. It's not free: the Lexus-specific functionality requires a one-time in-app purchase of a Pro Package that costs $19.99. Once you buy it, you have unlimited access to changing settings and doing diagnostics as many times as you want on as many cars as you want (incl. supported VW, Audi, Toyota and Scion models). The app lets you see what customization settings are available on your specific car before you buy the Pro Package.

The hardware that you need is a generic ELM327 Bluetooth dongle ($10ish) that plugs into the diagnostic port inside the car, under the dash. See some examples here.

So the total cost is around $30 for unlimited use. Compare that to going to a dealer ONCE

Here's a sample customization (LPS) list from a 2013 GS350 (US model). Your settings may vary depending on equipment and market.

I would absolutely LOVE to change some of these options on my car. Unfortunately, I'm hooked into an iPhone at the moment.

This is a great app you've created... kudos to you guys. I'll keep my fingers crossed for an iOS version.

This is a great app!! I am an ios fanatic, but had an old evo 4g laying around that I use on wifi for the app. If you don't want to wait just pick up any old android on ebay for cheap.

There are many threads on techstream on the forums here if you search around. One thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...ingertips.html

Working on the iOS version as we speak (just starting)

TPMS programming is in the plans as well, but we have lots of competing priorities, so I can't promise it'll make it in the next version. It's not unlikely, though.

So does the "Seat Heater Mode" only affect the "heat" settings and not the "cool" settings?

Thanks

I think it's only for the heating... but we haven't actually experimented with it on a car with cooled seats. Do you have such a car? I'll give you a free 14-day trial to mess with whatever settings you want if you try out this one and let me know how it affects the seat cooling. Deal?

Any one of them is fine. The one you've quoted is probably the one I'd recommend out of the 3.
