Hey it was $23 Canadian $$.
What I didn't like about the purchase was I couldn't find the price until I actually hooked up the BT OB2 device and then the app took me back to the playstore and gave me a price

Without a doubt an INEXPENSIVE setup tool that works very well and is relatively fast!

Even after buying a nice 9" TAB to run the program , the VTL Tech (TM) ELM327 v1.5 Bluetooth Mini Small Interface OBD2 Scanner Adapter , the whole setup is less than $100 CND !
Pop a mSD Card in the Tab. and music to boot

I'd like to see a comprehensive Dbase of error codes. Note my previous post where I have error codes and no real idea of what they really mean.

Also a forum by the seller of the app. Would be the best place for users to share their experience, codes, etc.

It already works, we just need to polish it a bit for design and stability and release it on the Apple App Store.
For those of us who have already purchased the tool for our Android device, will we have to pay again for the iOS version?

Thanks

Yep plus me as we couldn't wait and were directed that way.

Apple and Google do not provide any way for apps to interoperate between the 2 platforms.

That said, I think I'll be able to offer you guys a one-time switchover: if you purchase the iOS app, then I'll refund your Android purchase. We have to see how payments are gonna work on the iOS app, but I think this should be possible. Of course, once this is done, you won't be able to use the paid features of the on Android.

And one more thing: note that Android and iOS use different OBD hardware: our Android app uses a Bluetooth ELM327 device, whereas the iOS app will use a WiFi ELM327 device. Apple disallows standard Bluetooth communication.

Yes, we're planning to submit a beta version to Apple within a week.

Not initially, but we do have plans to add that feature to Carista for both platforms.

Carista I realize your busy, but do think you could find some time to answer some of the recent support requests posted here. Like what do these errors mean?

Body/convenience system:
B126A

Parking brake:
C13A3
C13A4

Also do you know what "coming home lights" are?

Thanks for your time

Hi, sorry, I guess I missed that one. We don't have descriptions for those errors, but a web search shows they mean:
B126A: Remote engine starter ECU communication stop
C13A3: Manual switch (lock switch) open/short
C13A4: Manual switch (release switch) open/short

If you don't have the equipment these codes refer to (such as a remote engine starting system), then the codes may be normal and it's probably safe to ignore them. I don't know, really.

"Coming-home lights" (a.k.a. "follow-me-home lights" or "home shine") is the feature where the headlights stay on after you lock the car in order to light your way home from your driveway or parking spot when it's dark out. In most cases, they are tied to a light sensor and can therefore only be tested at night or in a dark garage.

Don't know for sure but I believe those are the lights under the mirrors that illuminate when you approach the car

Thanks Carista.
Figured coming home lights where the headlights, strange name though.

Those other errors must have been left over from the dealer installed third party remote starter? I'll see if I can reset them now that I have a clue as to what they mean.

Okay, I just got a Note Edge and it blows my iPhone off the water. So I guess I'll be keeping my Carista on my Android phone.

I've been using an iPhone 6 lately (because I wanted to get in the mindset of an iOS user, since we're developing an iOS app), but I have to say, I'm not impressed. I'll soon be going back to my Nexus 5 for personal use. But at this point the two platforms have converged so much that the differences are relatively minor and are mostly a matter of preference and getting used to. Just my 2 cents
