ML audio added after the fact 2014 GS FS Sport?
Hi,
Just curious in the rear case i was able to come across a ML audio system for a 2014 GS350 F sport, could it be added after the fact fairly easily due to it having more speakers?
Also Do the 2013 and 2014 ML audio upgrade have same part number for the FSport GS350???
Also any feedback to the system as i had the ML upgradein my 2008 GS350 and it was phenomenal sounding....The stock system in the 2014 gs F350 sport sounded pretty damn good on its own, i pick up my new whip in white tommorrow.
Thank you

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's not possible, and if it is, it would be prohibitively expensive to install. It's a factory build option, not a dealer install option, so that tells you it kinda needs to happen while the car is being assembled.
The ML system has 17 speakers. Count how many your car has. Consider the panels for each set of speakers, for each port on the rear doors, etc. Consider the wiring. Are all the GS's wired for the ML, or does the ML get extra wiring? Then there's the rear shelf that has 2 big speakers and a fairly large center sub, so the rear shelf may be another part number. The ML also has an 825 watt amp hidden somewhere.
I don't mean to discourage you, because the ML sound is very, very nice, but I've heard from non-ML owners that the factory default stereo is good too. I'd be surprised if they didn't share the same head unit but were firmware-locked depending on the ML option set.

I thought all Fsport comes with ML?
Does the non-ML have a center sub in the rear too? I see the cover on mine but I don't know if there is a sub in there.

Should create a thread on differences unless it exists already. I do remember seeing bits and pieces of information scattered on this forum. There is different ohm rating for the speakers...different amp at same location. Extra speakers...probably doable but you would have to scour for the infor and consolidate it into one thread.

Not all f-sports come with ML. when I was looking for mine, I saw a few that did not have it. deal breaker for me.

So if you can come up with the extra speakers (and if they are a different ohm rating you may need to replace them all), the last question is, what about the wiring? Are all GS'es wired for the ML system?

I don't think it is just the speakers are are different, I bet there is a different signal from the deck in the front as well, but I'm just guessing on that one.
For all the work you'd have to do to get the new speakers and amp in, you might as well buy aftermarket stuff and get the best sound possible.

You have to special order the GS in order to get ML. I personally think it's worth it. Every time I get a loaner, I can def. notice the difference...especially when a song has bass.

I didn't special order mine and it has the ML package...

The GS Fsport I test drove had ML in it and so did the IS 350 Fsport, that's why I thought ML comes standard with Fsport models.
So mine is the 12-speaker one and still have a woofer in the back. Nice.
