2013 GS 350 Voice Commands
Does anyone have any information on an update to this crap software? This is the worst system I have experienced. I use my iPhone 90% of the time rather than repeating myself with the Lexus interface. Just the sound of the voice turns me off. I am ready to dump the F-Sport due to this.

I sure wish there was a software update. My Genesis voice control was much better. Too many hoops to jump through with the GS.

I really hated it at first, but it's slowly starting to grow on me.
Slowly.
I guess I was expecting a Siri/Google Now level of intelligence and was really disappointed that it couldn't figure out the simplest natural-language commands. However, after reading the manual (I still can't believe I had to open it) I'm starting to learn how to get things done w/ it. Two things really helped me get over the learning curve:
First, I realized that the system doesn't tell you that it doesn't understand your command, but instead it responds to you as if it didn't hear your command in the first place. Of course you end up repeating the same phrase, which it once again will not understand (but it will continue to respond as if it didn't hear you). Infuriating. Once I realized that my car will almost always hear me, I now know to try accomplishing the particular task using a different phrase.
Next, I had to stop asking it questions and talking in complete sentences. Just a basic ACTION-NOUN or NOUN-ACTION will work best. Knowing the system's key words and practicing different phrases really helps. For example:
I hope that helps!
BTW, I still HATE having to confirm EVERY ****ING step with a "Yes" command.
Slowly.

- "Where is the closest gas station?" (total fail every time)
- "Find gas" (90% success rate - better than nothing)
I hope that helps!
