Default The GS may be getting RES+ real soon! Info...inside

I just got my LFS bill in the mail a few days ago and included inside there is an advertisement for RES+ (Remote Engine Starter Plus) for the RX/RXh, GX, ES/ESh and CT. I gave my local lexus a call and they told me that currently they have the green light on the RX/RXh RES+ but have not receive the green light for the other vehicles but told me that other vehicles listed under that advertisement will be available soon. I also ask them do they think its will be available for the GS/GSh too, and he said that if more customers were interested in the RES+ for GS then Lexus corp would likely make that happen. So everybody call Lexus corp and tell them we want it!

I am crossing my fingers on this one.

Had regular remote start installed by dealer last week. Was told that RES + could have been installed at additional cost.

I don't think its worth it, from what I've read in the RX forums. I went with viper and couldn't be happier. It has the same features plus more than the RES+. Trust me, we've been waiting for years for RES+.

And, viper gives you notifications.

Which model did you go with?

What all can you control?

I went with the smart start GPS model. I took a pic of the features here. You can also start the car with three clicks if the lock button on the remote, which was a pleasant surprise. The one thing I haven't inquired about is whether or not you can open the trunk from the app directly. Here are a few pics.

When you remote start your car - does the engine shut off when you open your door, or does it remain running? That was the biggest down fall on the Lexus remote start - it would shut off the motor when you get into the car and you would have to start it again.

It still does. I don't know why Lexus has it set up like that. In a Cadillac I test drove the engine started along with the AC and when you get in and press the start button again everything else turns on.

About time, but wow only the RX, GX, ES and CT are capable thus far. Lexus has been so slow to release RES+, not to mention after it was offered first on the RX they stopped all ads on it

I don't remember exactly but I believe it was around $500 installed. It is a GPS based subscription service for $99.99 per year, or $199.99 for 3, which I got. If you decide not to pay later on, you can still use the key fob to start the car.
