Power Folding Mirrors on 2013
Hey guys,
Like many of you I would love to have power folding mirrors on my 2013 GS, therefore I started looking through the 2014 Sewell Parts directory and came across these parts:
8790830C51C0 - Right Actuator Obsidian $488.53
8790930D41C0 - Left Actuator Obsidian $731.44
84040XXXXX - Master Switch Assembly - need to know which one the 2013 would need
Do you think this will be a plug and play type of mod, as this was an option in some countries in 2013? Or will this require a wire harness change? Also, why such a large difference in the price of the two?
Thanks!

It's not worth the cost.

I may check with dealer to see if they can do the job.

The RCTA sensors are located in the sides of the rear bumpers so it's not that. I actually can't imagine why it'd be so much more though.

Yes the sensors are but maybe only the left mirror gets the input from both sides and warns the driver only on the left mirror. Just wondering.
Never mind. Found where both mirrors warn.

Thanks for the replies guys. I know it's a lot of money but I plan to keep this car for a while, so to me it might pay off having that convenience for the life of the car. I just want to know that it would be possible before I start spending the money! I will try and get with my service advisor next time I go in to get the exact part numbers for the actuators and the master control on the drivers side. Btw I did a quick google search and it looks like you can get the parts from other venders for quite a bit cheaper - somewhere around $800!
Infamous - totally agree with you! Spending this much money on a car and looking at people with cars worth half as much having power folding mirrors is quite embarrassing indeed.

OP, curious what car those stock parts you referenced came off of... Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the second gen IS have folding mirrors? They look similar in style, if you can find used parts to cut the cost down maybe they could be swappable?
