What tires to buy for noise free ride
I prefer Michelin but any brand would be ok as long as it quiet majority of its life. My Dunlops installed on my Luxury rims on my 2014 GS350 started out quiet but now its 4000 miles and already getting noisy.
My tire preferences are in this order
1. Quietness
2. Comfort
3. Handling all seasons
4. Durability

Some of us like to crank up the stereo to hide the noise.
But I'd recommend Michelins for the most quiet brand but I've heard good things about Goodyear tires. I had Bridgestones and they tramline, very noisy. Falkens were cheap, quiet at first but start to deteriorate around the same time as the Dunlops.
Tirerack.com has consumer information on noise as well as traction, would be worth a visit.

The RL is a very quiet car anyway. I owned an '05 RL. I went from the RL to an '06 Infiniti M45 and couldn't believe how much road noise there was. I wouldn't use the RL as an example. The 4GS has lots more road noise.
