I just finished installing these 5000K LEDs on my Lexus GS and would like to share my experience with members here. Keep in mind this is just for reference and I am not responsible for any damages to your vehicle if not done correctly. I am not affiliated with any brand products I used in this DIY guide.

Ok on to the good stuff.....


Here is a picture of how I removed the light housing. I simply used my finger nails and pulled at the light lens until it popped out. If you have a plastic pry tools that would be better. And if you decide to use a screw driver make sure you put electrical tape over the flat head. There are four tabs holding the light housing onto the door cutout. Be carefull when pulling light lens out that you do not let the back part of the housing (color grey plastic) fall out into the door. This mistake will take you forever to fish it out. Once light housing is popped out push on the power wire connector tab and release it freely.


This is what you should see after you taken the light housing out. Remove the grey part out by pressing on the tab on the right side of grey cover and pulling out.


Now that the grey cover is out pull out the oem light bulb using two fingers making sure the bulb is not hot. Some force may be required to pull bulb out. Try wiggling it out while pulling.


Once the Oem bulb is out insert the LED bulb facing away from you. (The LED bulb should be facing the clear lens.) Trust me I learned the hard way lol! Then snap back on the grey plastic backing and plug in the power wire until you hear a good snap. This is a good opportunity to use some electrical/bulb grease to prevent corrosion for those of you who live in Colder regions. I put some electrical grease on the bulb connection and also on the actual power connection.

Overall I am very impressed with these LEDs. I have tried other brands from ebay that has 8 led nodes and still was not as bright as these. Very satisfied. The OEM bulbs seem terrible after installing these LEDs.

Seriously, trunk light led is way easy. I am planning on doing that mod too but instead of a simple led swap, I am going full led light strip! Doing this maby this weekend or next week.

I am planing to do every light into LED. Except for the headllight lo/hi beams because I prefer HID on those.

Well don't be a dumbass like me and stick in the wrong bulb by accident. Apparently it didn't just blow the fuse but the entire junction box got smoked a bit. Lots of $$$ to repair.

OK, the mechanic just came back and said it was just the fuse - had me worried. Future reference - don't accidentally stick in a Type 24 bulb.
