Default Cruise not available

Today while driving home from work, (I know work on Saturday ) I put on the cruise control, set my speed and it was normal. A second or two go by and I get a buzzing sound and a message comes up on my dash that "Cruise Control is not available" and a yellow triangle warning light. I turned it off and back on, same thing. I waited a few minutes and tired again and it was back to normal. The only thing I could think is that I have the PCS. Would that have screwed things up?
Any ideas?

Do you have the Laser Cruise Control? If you do, it is affected by rain. Not sure if it was raining.

Anyway glad nothing is wrong with the car!

Depending on how much it's raining, it will throw an error code. If you hold the cruise control stick pulled toward you for a few seconds, it will put your cruise in normal, non-laser mode and then it will work in rain, but in classical mode.

This is interesting. It has happened to me also, but only once in 19 months. It was recently and I was in snow mode at the time -- and had just assumed that adaptive cruise control would not deploy while in snow mode. Seems I was wrong.

At first I thought it had something to do with the windshield wipers as it was raining... but i guess the rain effects the "laser"

All 4 cars of mine with DRCC behave the same. If the wiper operate at high speed the cruise control won't work and show the same message. If the wiper operate at low speed then it will working.
