Sit and really read the directions first and know them well because it's a little tedious to try and perform the change while reading the directions.

You should really consider 5 blinks instead of 7 because i think 7 is too long, people will be confused if your going to change lanes again and honk at you. I tried 7 blinks first but then changed it to 5 because i think its like goldielocks, not too much but not too little.

should have seen me screaming in the car by myself when I was rushing through it. My neighbor died of laughter. After I calmed down I read the directions carefully and got it done in under a minute lol.

I agree - 7 flashes is way too many in my opinion. 5 flashes would be the absolute most I could handle, but I much prefer the Standard/Default 3 flashes. I'd say that most every time (95% probably) that I elect to change lanes I can get it done right away without having to wait for traffic to clear or for someone to let me in front of them - so 3 flashes are plenty for me. And, if the traffic is really heavy I will just use the permanent flasher (like making a turn) and manually turn it off once I can finally change lanes.

I also changed to 5 blinks, using same instructions, you have to follow them exactly as it says.

I was out running errands and such (actually getting my windows tinted) and changed lanes 12-18 times and was thinking about this topic. Not one time did I need more than 3 flashes, and using 5 flashes would definitely have been 2 flashes too many. I'll stick with the default Standard 3 flashes...

I have a 2014 as well and it does not beep. I think if it gets extremely dangerous or goes above certain mile while drive then it starts to beep.

Look at Pages 13-17 of this GS 350 Technical Introduction that explains how the BSM (Blind Spot Monitor) system is designed to work. Nowhere is there any mention of the BSM system producing any audible sound (beep sound or any other sound) under any operating conditions. So, about that beep...

I ended up going with 5. And I agree with Yardie, read the directions like 5 times before proceeding. I'd also to a trial run without turning on. I had to start over a couple times. One key point, push the start button twice. I was pushing it once, and it didn't work. Twice, it works. Thanks again to all!
