I was just wondering if any of you guys scotchguard you car footwell carpet? If yes, what is the best way to do this? Will this help keep the carpet from obsorbing odors from melting snow? I also have lexus brand all weather floormat installed.

I used Wolf's nano textile sealant on the footwell carpeting and the carpet mats (which aren't currently in the car, I'm using the all weather mats as well until it gets nicer out). The textile sealant is very hydrophobic, though can't offer any feedback on how it compares to scotchguard.

I purchased it from Detailers Domain. Phil and his team over there are forum sponsors and run a great shop. I highly recommend purchasing from them. I also used their leather sealant on my seats and plan on giving trim coat a try.
