Anyone even attempt to retro one of these onto their GS yet? I've been wanting to do this and its been driving me nuts. Im even thinking of trading in my '13 f sport for a '14 hybrid. Don't know what to do!!

Lol I have decided to trade mine in but next year in the hopes the engine is better or the GS-F is out. I think it would cost a lot to achieve that feature.

Lexus dealers cannot retro the auto trunk opener. Has to be done at factory. I have 2013 too. I also miss folding mirrors I had on 2007 GS 350 AWD that also had semi-auto trunk closing setup. I am waiting till 2015 model because they will put in CAR PLAYER that will do all the smartphones for emails, etc. not possible with many phones including the iphone.

I'm sure it can be done. No one wants to cough up the money to do it though. There was a thread a couple months ago talking about it and the cost for all the components was over a grand.

Yes,I did the thread of over $1,000 but no dealer wants to take the car apart and labor could be over $2,000. So I wait for newer models.

Lexus was brilliant in their marketing strategy of leaving the trunk and side mirror automation off the 2013. Lots of folks will be considering trading for these conveniences.

Some folks won't buy a Lexus again just because of that "brilliant" strategy. That's a shame/deceptive strategy on my book. Also other features such as Siri, HD radio traffic, Enform +.... It's like buying the iPad without the apps store, glossy but lacking features. Just my 2 cents.

I feel the same way. I know about "caveat emptor" and all but this has been the last time I will own a Lexus and for this specific reason.

Has anyone seen a 2014 F-Sport with the trunk closer? In my visits to the dealer, not a one had it.

Placed an order for a 2014 f sport. Mine will have it. Also the one in the showroom had it. I'm in canada

IIRC it was deduced that the automatic trunk components from the ES were the same ones used in the 4GS elsewhere and technically speaking would work in a retrofit. Just need someone to tear their '14 apart and clarify with some part numbers.
Canadian spec 4GS always had it if I'm not mistaken.
