From Early build 2013 F-Sport to 2014 F-Sport
I just traded in my high mileage lease 2013 early build GS 350 F-Sport (vin# under 3,000 for the 2013) to a new 2014 F-Sport. I have always heard about how early builds are different, but the refinement is quite noticeable. From the sound tuning of the Mark Levinson sound system, to the driver side wind noise, rattles, the different more solid feeing of the electronic buttons when pushed or turned, firmness of the front seats, the liners around the trunk, the trunk mechanism itself, the actual ride is not as harsh as my 2013 GS, etc... there seems to be marked improvements or differences. I know that a new car gives one a different feeling but I am quite certain a lot of these are real differences....

Good to know. My '13 GS F Sport will be 2 years old next month. Even though I'm quite satisfied with it, I am looking to trade for either an RC350 or a new GS. On the GS, I will probably wait until the '15 model when they make cosmetic changes. Not worth it when I still love driving my '13 GS. The RC is another story.

I'll wait for the 5GS 2nd or 3rd year...no more being a guinea pig. I think the 3rd year would be the sweat spot for the 4gs or any GS generation. You get all the bugs worked out. You might even get a different or more refined engine. 1 and 2nd year models of each generation from Lexus is LEASE material IMO.
same goes for the RC etc... I would wait for the next year version or just lease it.

When my lease ends I'll be looking at the GS-F or RC350/RC-F. Depends on which one drops first. I have 2.5 years to go so I'm going to have some very nice choices when the lease is up.

i dont think so...anytime you go from an old car to a new one, you tend to forget how the old one felt when it was new, and automatically think the new one is built so much better.
leather gets softer, buttons get worn out, tires and suspension wear out so are noisier.
it's happened to me many times when i've driven a the same version of my car with less miles.
its a psychological thing.
