Houston it dead flat. I always get good mileage due to the type of driving and my driving style. In two years I'm averaging about 24mpg in my BMW 550 (400hp) and have gotten 27.4 on three different long trips I've done in it. My last GS which was my daily driver (2010) I got 26 mpg in almost every tankful, and 30-31 in pure highway driving.
You need to turn around and go back so you can get some downhill driving in

What are talking a difference of maybe 10 fill ups a year if you drive 25,000 miles a year. If 10 fill ups are hurting your pocket then you shouldn't be driving a Lexus. I get 18-20 mpg and love it.

Something must be wrong with mine 2014 AWD GS350. I have it since December, and I have not seen mileage better than 18mpg. I do an equal mix of highway and city driving, 90% normal, 5% echo and 5% sport.
I haven't tried to reset the avg for specific trips, though. But I thought "Avg since last refuel" is supposed to be pretty accurate?...

Come on Infamous, can't we have our cake and eat it too? Not about getting unreasonable gas mileage, it is about getting the MPG's reported on the sticker. I know of other cars getting within the advertised range. One example - 2014 Toyota Corolla that a friend purchased and she is getting the advertised mpgs.

You have to remember its winter Doug, mileage will improve in the spring when winter blend gas goes away and temps improve.
I just got back from a 700 mile round trip, I got 25.3 MPG, which I think is pretty good considering winter fuel and that about 120 miles each way of that was up and down highway grades. That same trip in the winter in the ES I got 27MPGish...

Yes, indeed. It's not about the actual Mileage, it's about huge difference between actual and promised. I see many people post decent mileages within the promised range. But for me, I often get not just 18mpg, but 15-16 mpg with regular driving...

15-16 would really suck. In my old G35 with close to the same hp and 1 less gear in the tranny, I got 17 city no matter what; never more, never less. Once on the highway I got 26 which was unbelievable. I went from the normal 300 miles per tank to 440 or so, hammer down 75mph for most of the tank.
My GS seems to be slowly improving despite crappy winter gas. If and when I get 100% gasoline with no garbage ethanol it does even better.

Have a 2014 GS 350 F-sport. has 1100 miles, all city. I am averaging 15 mpg right now and have been all ECO mode. Am now trying to leave it in Sport + and M mode and see what I get (I can tell it's gonna be less).
Called the dealer and they claim that until I get the 1st oil change (10K miles), mileage will suck. I said, why does the oil make a difference? Anyone know if this is true? And, why does my mileage suck? I have a compressor so the tires are at 35 front, 36 rear....

Also, once you pass the break in period, give it a good thrashing on the open highway. Really beat on it, completely floor it in sport mode a few times when it's safe to do so. The computer needs all the data it can get.
